Part 2
Divya's mother, Naina, was one year younger than Sanjana's mother, Sudha. Naina was much closer to Sudha than she was to her own sister and brother...they had been best friends since childhood, despite marrying into economically and socially different families. Distance had not lessened their love for each other and both were delighted when Sudha, her husband, and Sanjana moved to Naina's city.
Naina hugged Sudha, and then hugged Sanjana, and teased her about her age...Sweet Sixteen..Sanjana blushed and Naina sent her off to meet Divya, who was getting ready in her room.
On the way, she encountered Divya's dogs who immediately surrounded her and let her pass only when she cuddled all of them.
As she entered the room, she saw Divya dressed in tight jeans and top, a black leather coat, and knee length boots.
"Wow!! Looking like a heroine", she exclaimed.
Divya turned around and rushed to greet her sister. They hugged and Sanjana handed her the gift.
While Divya went to fetch something from the cupboard, Sanjana looked around and saw the rows of Barbies and expensive perfumes, jewellery and clothes Divya had received, and thought of her own present.
Sanjana had lovingly packed a box with an eyeliner, lip gloss, nail colour, 2 slam books/ diaries, decorative pens, erasers of different shapes and sizes, which she knew Divya loved to collect, and 2 candles she had made herself.
Divya returned and opened her gift...and told Sanjana it was the best gift she had received.
Divya's friends started arriving and so they went down.
