An example of how stupid Indian TV can get:
This show is one of the best examples (besides pretty much every other Ekta Kapoor serial) of how stupid TV can get.
In all honesty, this could have been an interesting show. To show three different girls with three different aspirations and three different scenarios of married life or views on marriage was quite new and interesting. But even though the makers somewhat went by that story - it ended up being so boring and stupid.
-The family scenes at Prathna's in-laws' place: Crappy, everyone all of a sudden came to give their two-cent argument. All they ever talked about was status, money, izzat, and AGAIN the villianous women were pure evil (without a real reason). Heavily make-uped and just ruthless. Those argument scenes were so fake.
-What Indian family in India calls their parents by their names (and a name like RIO) Come on.
-The story became focused on Prathna (the one woman 'dhook bhari kahan' of her trials. The other two girls need somewhat more concentration.
-The second son and his wife: The second son was the epitome of men in Indian cinema/tv. The quiet, slapped guy who has an evil wife, disagrees with her but doesn't stand up firmly against her. What a sissy. It took Prathna to come to the house for him to stand up for his mom. His WIFE, air hostess, who herself was status-less - complains about Prathna's middle class status. Wow. She was evil without a reason.
-The first son and his wife: Evil without a reason - As unrealistic as it can get.
-Prathna's husband: If he was that good, why didn't she stand up for his mom years ago.
-The daughter: She was somewhat real, but her dialogues were crappy. Her story didn't develop well.
-Siddhi: She had a good story - if only they took it to the next step.
-The scene where Prathna tries to save her sister-in-law (Rio's daughter): It was funny more than serious. The goons were so stupid and their plans for escaping were equally stupid.
Overall, this serial was coming to an end because of its bad story. If only, they were able to stick to the theme.
