A little too late, but wonderful discussion Gina.. loved how you've
moderated it.. and also the numerous questions raised... well all I can say
is thought provoking indeed... Remember our Rehab days?? well my
therapist told me then that the road to sanity [case in discussion - DMG]
involves letting go of logic and sense.. and I guess I'm a success story.. hello michelle!! happy to see you join in as always. Oooh yeah the rehab days!! now we dont need any, the creatives took pity on us and did it themselves
In all honesty somewhere deep inside i've been miffed by the turn of
events.. and even though I gave up questioning WHY, your post had me
like a moth to a candle.. I also thought I had given up but then one day it just all spilled out, cudnt contain myself any longer esp with Ridzy's character. I guess am still pretty much confused but got a few more avenues to be confused about!!
I observed a couple of things.. If you notice, there is an audience member
in the serial, who asks the exact same questions we do, who is as
confused as we are, and who cannot fathom what is going on.. Dr.
Shashank is our representative in the serial.. He knows Ridzie is not the
type to arrange [or even support] dangerous if not condescending
activities, let alone give someone a massage in broad daylight... What I
have hope in, is because there already is an audience member in the
serial, they will answer these confusing questions.. Plus now there are
more to that gang with Rahul and the almost invisible Padma added.. so
there's more hope.. [once they move beyond the pranks that is] ooh that is a good observation, now that one thinks back, Shanx is just as confused!! so if it is means some answers, will be welcome but then wish they dont show him to be too partial a father. I mean I had such a good impression of him as an impartial dean, a professional etc.
Forgive me for saying this, but right from the first frame of the show,
Playing Pranks was it's backbone.. After every serious fight, tears and ab
bas, they regressed to where it first started.. It's almost a binding factor..
I agree after showing a love so perfect they shouldn't have demeaned it to
this.. But I feel they keep coming back, because this is where it all
started.. Plus.. I know defending what the creatives are doing now i fear
will land me some jhootas and chappals... but what goes around comes
around.. it's almost a full circle now.. Initially nobody could understand
why Armaan would keep playing pranks on Riddhima after she stung him
so many times with her words, Now nobody can understand why
Riddhima is trying to jeopardize his career when all she really wants
[hopefully] is to see him happy.. But from what i've seen so far, he painted
her face, she painted his hair, he stole her stuff, she stole his clothes, he
tripped her, she tripped him... yada yada
They've evened the score so well that now we're not biased to any one of
the two.. We love/hate them equally... Hmm! yeah sort of like justice to Ridzy if your character is unbelievable and confusing, dont worry honey we will get Armaan also down to the same level!! In a lighter vein, wonder if Ridzy had a fit or tantrum and refused to give up until they relented
I've also noticed that the keyword in DMG is "change" - he changed for
her, and now she's changing for him... It might just be a path to self
discovery.. pushing yourself, going against your core nature... hmmm okie! then soon she will tire off her changed nature and the fire escape scene will be ulta with Ridzy telling Armaan main tumhare layak (or is it nalayak)bante bante thak gayee hoon?? Ab bas!! though cant picture her punching the walls!! she can always resort to the Armaaaaaan shriek made so famous in the fights!!
Okay one more and I promise to stop.. "You always chase the ones that
run away".. couldn't be more apt for these clowns.. Very well said
PS: This is on a completely different tangent and i'm so sorry I deviated..
just thought my insight might help clear a few of the many questions..
