Recently, shooting for Ayan was held in the busy Sowcarpet area of Chennai. Director K.V. Anand never imagined that a Tamil film shooting would draw such a big crowd and create so much fervour in this area dominated by North Indians. When news spread that onscreen villain Akashdeep Saigal was shooting, it proved to be quite a crowd-puller. Akashdeep Saigal is a very well known face in North Indian communities all over India. He played the notorious yet suave villain Ansh Gujral in the famous Ekta Kapoor's serial, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. He also participated in the dance reality show, Jhalak Dhikhla Jaa. He can be seen playing a negative role in almost all teleserials on all TV channels. He also said in an interview that he loved playing negative roles and that he wanted to give this type of role a new dimension.
K.V. Anand said that Akashdeep's role in Ayan will be similar to Prithviraj's role in Kana Kandein. Akashdeep will appear as a 30-year-old polished and smart villain in Ayan. It looks like K.V. Anand has decided to give a new dimension to the villain's role. Now that Akashdeep, a man with similar ideas, has teamed up with him, it looks like a new trend is on its way.
