Recap: Manya and Akash are separated because their parents do not wish for their marriage.
Manya stayed up in her room all night, flicking the light bulb on and off. She looked over how her life had changed-from the worse spoiled child she had changed into...well, this. She stared at herself in the mirror. Tears had stained her cheeks. She was wearing the same white sarwar kameez, her dupatta against her body. Her eyes were weary as if she had walked for a long while. A strange scream was awakening within her, scratching against her insides to come out. Akash's face kept flashing in her mind. His smile, his laughter. She replayed their first meeting in her mind; she was cheering for Karan at a basketball game and he had won. He had winked at her and told her the words, "Cheer louder next time, sweetheart."
Would Kiran really take her love away? She remembered she had slapped Kiran when she had found out Kiran was trying to spoil their relationship. Come to think of it, at that time, Manya was just playing with Akash. So in other words she had slapped Kiran for spoiling her prank, not relationship.
She sat down, unsure of what to do. The room, fully furnished, seemed so vacant to her. Everything seemed lifeless, just like her.
The door creaked open, silence vanishing from the room. Manya looked up blankly and saw her mother enter, holding a dress in her hands. Manya looked at the dress and recognized it as a bridal lehnga.
MM: Tumhein koi haq nahin hai mujhe Ma kehne ka, Manya.
M: Ma, aise muth kaho. Main tumhari wohi Manya hoon-
MM: Wohi Manya? Woh Manya jo meri har baat maanti thi? Tumhe thodi si choot kya dhay dhi, tumne tho mujhe mooh dikhane ke laik nahin choda!
M: Aisa muth kaho, Ma! Maine tho bas pyar kiya hai. Oos ki sazaa itni badi?
MM: Sazaa? Saza tho mujhe mili hai! Jab koi beti ghalat kaam kerti hai, tho uski sazaa hamesha Ma per hi ajaati hai, Manya!
M: Maine koi bura kaam nahin kiya. Pyar kiya hai maine! Kya meri zindagi per mera itna bhi haq nahin!
MM: NAHIN HAI! YEH ZINDAGI TUMHE MAINE DHI HAI, SAMJI!
Manya was taken back. Manya's mother had never spoken to her like this. So why today?
MM threw the lehnga on her bed.
MM: Karan tumse shaadi kerna chahta hai.
MM: Haan. Aur yeh shaadi ho ker rahe gi.
Manya ran to her mother, holding her.
M: Nahin, Ma! Tum nahin jaanti-Karan muhjse pyar nahin kerta! Woh tho bas badla laina chahta hai! Kyunki main Akash se pyar kerti hoon! Aur uski Akash ke saath-
MM: BAS! Agar tu apni Ma ko zinda dekhna chahti hai, tho meri baat maan. Verna-
MM: Haan, Manya, haan! Aaj tujhe chuna hoga! MAIN YAAN AKASH?
Manya swallowed, tears racing down her cheeks.
MM: Teri khamoshi ko main kya samjoon, Manya?
M: Aap meri Ma hain. Aur aapse main bahut pyar kerti hoon. Meri zindagi per aapka karz hai.
Manya's mother stared at her, surprised.
M: Jo Ma apni beti se keh sakti hai ki woh apna pyaar chune yaan usko, tho oos Ma ki parvarish pyar ke badle karz mein badal jaati hai. Pyar tho apne dhaite hain na? Aap tho mujhe paidha kerke pachta rahi hain. Tho teek hai. Aapne jo mujhe zindagi dhi, aaj uska karz main chukaoon gi. Aapko meri parvarish se azaad kerti hoon main.
She picked up the lehnga, staring at it.
MM stared at her, her eyes filling up.
M: Beta muth kaho, mujhe, please! Aapka ehsaan main chukaoon gi. Bas.
Manya turned to the window angrily, looking out. MM walked away silently, weeping softly. Manya's tears burned her skin as they fell. She fell to her knees, crying.
Akash sat outside, his lips pursed. His father came from inside, his arms crossed.
AD: Tumhari shaadi ki date fix kerne Kiran ke Ma Baap arahe hain. Oopar jaon aur dang se kapde pehno. Yeh devdas ki shakal mere ghar mein nahin chale gi.
Akash stared at the ground as his father walked away. Manya's voice echoed in his ears. He shut his eyes, only to find her face fill his thoughts.
He stood up, uncertain of what to do. What was Manya doing right now? Was she thinking of him? Would her parents be doing something bad to her right now? Would they care for her after she disobeyed them?
Akash looked back at his house. It stood tall under the moonlight, strong and still. There was no place for Manya in his house, as his father said. So why would he stay in a place where Manya couldn't stay?
AM came from inside, clutching her sari tightly in her hands.
AM: Akash! Akash! Andhar aao beta!
She walked to him, facing him.
AM: Ab bas ho gaya. Andher chalo. Kiran ke Ma Baap aate hi honge.
A: Mujhe nahin milna unse.
AM: AKASH! Tumhare Daddy ne sun liya tho-
AM: Tho? Tum jaante ho kya hoga! Andher chalo!
A: You know what, Mrs. Rathod? Aap sambaliye apne-apne pati ko! Saari umar unki baatein sun sun ker thak gaya hoon main! Mujhe shauhrat dhi lakein pyar nahin dhay sake!
AM: PYAR? Tumhe pyar hi tho diya hai humne!
A: Haan, diya! Lakein APNA pyar diya! Mujhe MERA pyar chahiye, Ma! Aur mere pyar ko aap mujhse judaa ker chuke hain.
AM: Tumhara pyar iss ghar mein nahin asakta.
A: Tho nahin chahiye mujhe aapka yeh ghar!
He walked away, his mother shouting after him. He walked to his car and stopped when he rememered his father had given this to him on his birthday. He picked up his keys and flung them at the front door of the house, surprising his mother.
AM: AKASH RATHOD! VAPPAS AAO!
Akash walked away in the dark street, his figure slowly vanishing from his mother's view.
Manya felt her body being shook in the middle of the night. She blinked, opening her eyes slowly. She stared in surprise at her mother's face.
MM: Manya? Utt na!
Manya sat straight in bed. Her mother was whispering. In the dark she could see the panic on her mother's face.
M: Aap iss waqt yahan-
MM grabbed her hand, silencing her by putting her finger over her mouth.
MM: Sssh. Chal. Chup ker ke!
They went out in the hallway and downstairs. Manya looked at her mother confusedly.
M: Aap mujhe kahan-
MM threw open the front door, looking up once again at her own bedroom where Manya's father was sleeping.
M: Yeh dharvaza kyun-
MM: Jaa yahan se, Manya. Ja!
MM: Apne pyar ke paas. Tu karz utharna chahti thi na? Ma tho hamesha apni aulaad ki khushi chahti hai. Tho mera karz uthaar. Apni khushi ko apnaa. Ja, Manya!
M: Ma, main-
MM: Koi teri raah dekh raha hoga. Baghvan tujhe hamesha khush rakhe, Manya.
She kissed her forehead.
M: Lakein, Ma, main aapko-
MM: Sssh. Aaj bas apni khushi apne daman mein le lay, Manya. Jaa uske paas.
Manya smiled at her mother gratefully, tears running down her cheeks. With one last hug, she ran out the door, her feet running to Akash's house.
