Thanks everyone! Mariaa, the song is Assi Ishq Da Dard from the movie Sheesha starring Neha Dhupia
Manya entered the mall with Roopa, trying to find a dress for Roopa's birthday party the following night. In all the havoc, she had completely forgotten that it was her best friend's birthday. But Roopa, being the nice friend she was, insisted it was no big deal as long as Manya made it to the party.
M: Theme kya hai dress ki?
Roopa had a certain smile on her face which Manya found odd.
M: Tujhe traditional kabse pasand aane laga?
Roopa laughed and shrugged.
R: Tu lehnga pehne gi na?
Manya raised her eyebrows, laughing.
M: Lehnga? Aur woh bhi birthday party mein? Shaadi nahin hai!
R: Oh, so what? Maine invitations per likh diya hua hai ki sab ko formal dressing hi pehni hai. Kaafi ladkiyun se baat hui meri! You're not going to be the only one, yaar!
Manya nodded her head.
M: I guess-hey, tumne kis kisko invite kiya hai?
Roopa grinned excitedly.
R: Woh tu dekh!
Manya rolled her eyes as they entered the store. She picked out a blue cabochon, admiring it.
M: Yeh kaisa hai?
R: Perfect! Go try it on!
Manya smiled and hurried into the rest room, already finalizing it in her mind that this would be perfect.
Manya arrived at the party. Eyes turned to look at her in awe as she walked in her blue cabochon. One end of her dupatta was on her shoulder and the other was wrapped around her arm. Her hair was open, straight and full of life. Roopa, wearing a olivia gharara, welcomed her excitedly.
R: Oh, gosh! You look beautiful, Manya!
Manya smiled slightly.
M: Thanks. Kaafi log hain yahan per!
Roopa nodded her head.
R: Lakein teri smile kuch missing hai, Manya.
Manya looked at Roopa in surprise.
Roopa smiled with her lips pursed.
R: Tujhe khud patha chal jaye ga abhi.
Roopa held her wrist and pulled her away from the crowd and in the kitchen, walking to the backdoor which led to the backyard.
M: Kahan ja rahi ho tum- Roopa, bahaar baarish ho rahi hai!
Manya noticed the heavy droplets of water which had started to fall recently. Thunder struck loudly, the sky turning gray.
R: Haan, lakein-tu bahaar ja na!
M: Roopa, mera dress-ah!
Roopa lightly pushed her, giggling. Manya stepped out, shocked.
M: Roopa, let me in-
She stopped talking as she realized someone else was in the yard. Water had now soaked through her dress and eyes. She squinted in the rain to see who it was. The figure was turned out.
The figure turned, facing Manya slowly. Manya almost stopped breathing as she saw it was Akash!
Akash, who was wearing a black suit with a blue buttoned shirt, looked at her through the water.
A: Raat ko-main tumhari balcony per aya tha.
Manya stared at him.
M: Huh? Kyun?
A: Actually, I don't know. Mujhe ghussa tha. Tum per.
Manya looked away, embarrassed.
A: Woh ghussa nikalne aya tha. Lakein- jo maine dekha-
Manya raised her eyes to meet his, suddenly remembering her night. She was crying
for him. She had confessed her guilt. And he had heard it?!
M: Oh, um...
Akash and Manya were still far away from each other. Akash was practically shouting the words to be heard over the rain.
M: Kuch kaha kyun nahin tha? Apna ghussa nikala kyun nahin?
Akash bit his lower lip.
A: Tumhari baatein sun ker sab ghussa-pyar mein badal gaya...
Manya stared at him, shocked.
M: Akash-main tumhare laik nahin hoon.
A: Main nahin jaanta ki kaun kiske laik hai. Main bas itna jaanta hoon that...that I love you, Manya.
Surprising her once again, he stepped back, his arms open in the water. One would think he was embracing the water.
A tear ran down Manya's cheek. She held her dress from the thighs, pulling it up a bit. The PKEK music began to play as she ran towards him. He smiled, full of mixed emotions, as she embraced his hug. As soon as their bodies touched, Akash wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly. Manya cried a bit on his shoulder, not sure why she was crying. Joy? Guilt? Excitement? It all seemed mix, her emotions running down her eyes. Akash closed his eyes.
He held her in his arms as if she were a delicate doll he had to take care of.
A: Iss pal ko rukne dho, Manya.
Manya held onto him, smiling. They moved apart two minutes later, looking at each other. Akash put his hands over her eyes, shutting them.
Manya felt something wrap over head. He removed his hand, letting her eyes open. She noticed that the red dupatta he had bought was on her head again. She smiled, putting her hands over Akash who was holding the ends of the dupatta.
Akash wrapped the dupatta around her shoulders. She laughed as she looked at him.
M: Kaise lag rahi hoon main?
Akash bent down to her ears and whispered,
A: Bil kul oos ladki ke jaisi, jise main bahut pyar kerta hoon...
Manya blushed shyly. He stepped back and down on his knees. She looked at him, puzzled. He held out a ring. The same ring which had fallen from his hands the night she had left him.
A: Kya aaj, tum sache dil se, meri hona chaho gi?
Manya stared at him.
A: I love you, Manya. Will you marry me?
He narrowed his eyes teasingly.
A: And this time, for real, yaar!
Manya laughed. She held his cheek softly in her hands, another tear slipping out of her eye.
M: I love you, too Akash. And...yes
Just as Akash smiled, she laughed and bent down in his ears, whispering like he did,
M: For real this time
Akash stood up. They both stared into each other's eyes as Akash slipped the ring in her finger. The music played as he held her shoulders. With the dupatta wrapped around her head and the ring in his finger, she truly did look like his bride.
