hey Ammu ..this one is for you and your doggy,

He is my other eyes that can see above
the clouds; my other ears that hear above
the winds. He is the part of me that can
reach out into the sea.

He has told me a thousand times over that
I am his reason for being: by the way he
rests against my leg; by the way he thumps
his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he
shows his hurt when I leave without taking him.
(I think it makes him sick with worry when he
is not along to care for me.)

When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive.
When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile.
When I am happy, he is joy unbounded.
When I am a fool, he ignores it.
When I succeed, he brags.
Without him, I am only another man. With him,
I am all-powerful.
He is loyalty itself.
He has taught me the meaning of devotion.
With him, I know a secret comfort and a
private peace. He has brought me understanding
where before I was ignorant.
His head on my knee can heal my human hurts.
His presence by my side is protection against
my fears of dark and unknown things.
He has promised to wait for me...
whenever...wherever--in case I need him.
And I expect I will--as I always have.
He is just my dog. 😊

this one is dedicated to jaipur blasts

How I wish I could look back to understand
back to when lives were taken
back to when families were separated
back to when children were murdered
I wish I could have helped to save them
I wish I could have tried to understand this senseless taking of human life.

They are no different than you or I.
They did not deserve this pain, this torture.
I wish I could look back to understand, to set lives free
to learn their pain and frustration.

Trying to understand;
I can hear their screams
I can hear their pain
I can hear their fear
I can hear a mother's cry when children are shot down
Oh, that pain so great, so terrible
I can smell the odor,
the odor of burning human life
I can smell the sweat,
the sweat of hard labour
I can smell the fear,
such an atrocity

I see the footage today, trying to learn what happened to them.
I watch the films today, trying to comprehend the pain they went through.
We all see the pictures, watch the torture, just trying to imagine this tragedy.
But the fact is we can't, unless our human life undergoes this.
These poor people, my heart cries out but there is nothing I can do.
Oh, please hear me. I am so sorry this had to happen to you.
Your time is now, it is here, time to rest,
time to be reunited and live everlasting in that great kingdom
called heaven.

They are both such touching poems...

You know...I had been waiting to become 18 yrs old so I could vote n give blood....now I'm waiting for my school to organise a camp so I can go n give blood.

But when I see such events taking place...I can never understand how anyone can waste lives like this..jo log doosron ko maarte hain..unhe dard nahin hota? no remorse??

On one hand are people who give blood maximum number of times a year, n doosri taraf there are people who kill people. I should know the value of blood...my friend is a Thalassemia patient n needs frequent transfusions..her whole family is suffering from this disease....but their friends regularly donate blood so that she'll get blood from the Blood Bank..coz there's some rule abt replacing blood.

How can people do this??????????

yaar, i don't know...some people just aren't human, i guess. i mean, it's bad enough when people are dying in natural stuff, like the earthquake in China, but at least that's nature, it happens...but people killing other people isn't natural. at least, i don't think so.

on to lighter topics: wow, so many nice poems here! i can't write poetry to save my life, so i'll just stick to complimenting y'all, ok?😃

this one is for all my friends

I found a friend in you

The chance of finding a valuable friend
I never really knew existed
Until one lucky day while cruising the Internet
I found a friend in you 😊
It seems as though it may seem funny to some
At times even strange to me
As to why someone would value a friendship
Like I find in you 😊
Even in your darkest hours of wondering
There is always time to think
For friendship bring about a state of mind
That unmistakable harmony
A warming glow of happiness I find in you
Why I do not know
But if our friendship endure the length of time  😊
The years that are to be
Shall be fulfilled with happiness for me
Knowing that I have found a friend 😃
