Meen and Seigai have both come home. Vandu and Chittu do the traditional 'arathi' with a coconut. Half-Saree days are gone for Meen
Once they are inside, Chittu tells Saravanan that he has married and all, but they need to follow some tradition. Vandu brings them a drink and tells them to split. Then Chittu implies to Duraipaandi that they should go do something. Durai doesn't get the hint, and Vandu plus Chittu get him out of the house, leaving the jodi's alone.
Meen asks Seigai how this, Thali around her neck, happened. Seigai asks if she is happy with it. Meen says yes, it gave her life back. Seigai says I know. Meen asks Saravanan why he loves her too much. Seigai says why don't I tell you tonight...Meen and Seigai have their full romantic time here, lots of implying this and that. Saravanan wants to go ahead with things, Meen puts full stop, as she is apprehensive. Seigai submits to her request. Meen asks if everyone had accepted them marrying...Seigai says yes. She asks what about Azaki, Seigai says there is no problem. Silence follows. Meen says then that they shouldn't wait too long, for which Seigai harasses her to tell him when. She jokes 'six months' and runs out.
Seigai is calling out Meenatchi's name in the morning, telling her he is leaving for work. Durai paandi tells him to just leave, you have been saying this 200 times since this morning. Seigai tells him not to torment him, he doesn't understand a 'family man'
Meen comes out with his food and tells him to finish the entire box, else it's his dinner as well. Seigai is on his way to work and Meen calls. She wants to know when he will be coming back. He says night and she says she will be asleep by then. Seigai gets upset and starts scolding, acting as though he was scolding someone on the road. Meen tells him that if he comes early, things may happen. Seigai makes a turn around and heads home, shocking Meen. She calls for her father, and Saravanan drives out.
Paandi is sitting on the road, and Mariappan goes to him. The latter tells Paandi that he too is shocked by Azhaki's death, and that his father and he are with Paandi's family. Mariappan says that the people who caused her death should not rest, they must seek revenge. The two of them, are not friends, but will unite for this cause. Mariappan tells Paandi that Meenatchi will come seeking them when she finds out about Azhaki's death. Paandi should not throw her away, but act like he is pacified and behave kind towards Meenatchi. They need to get both Seigai and Meenatchi to take back the court order. Then after that, Paandi and Mariappan's family will split the family property, and then Paandi can sit rich and seek revenge on Meenatchi and Saravanan.
Episode Rating: 4...
The shock of Azhaki's death is still there, so it is hard to gel with the proceedings. It's still hard to digest that the director will take this route, especially since her 'sudden love' for Seigai is hard to digest. Had the director shown some more scenes with them, or something like that, it is acceptable, but for the audience, we have only thought of Azhaki as revenge seeking and cunning. So to throw her character away suddenly, with such strong words by her, is unacceptable.
Coming on the wake of such an episode...this one doesn't charm me, even though Sreeja and Senthil are there and their acting is awesome. I wouldn't say chemistry, as I know the former is a very good actress and won awards for best screen jodi with other actors. But Senthil too was good, especially considering the dialogues, what was said and implied, would have made viewers blush.
The last scene is a bit unsettling...tragedy awaits Seigai Saravanan for sure. Meen won't be happy once she finds out the circumstances and the resulting consequences of Saravanan tying the knot on her. Poor Senthil, he has got to see Meen grieve and still grieve from her hands. Duraipaandi and Seigai are in for some sad times.
For now though, it must be obvious to everyone that C. Jerrold is quite busy on some other projects. Direction is being handled by associates. So the proceeding is going slowing. I am expecting other characters to start coming into the screen slowly for a crazy climax.
