The stats was a bit freaky when I first read it. I am neutral as I am South African (pure citizen of S.A).

However, my boyfriend is American (born and raised). But his parents were both born and raised in India and they moved to the States just after they were married.

When I read this article to him, he took it with a pinch of salt. That is cos his allegiance lies with both India and America. He says he will never choose who is better off cos you just cannot compare.

Even I am pride to be an Indian, but our disaster management exists only on paper and really does not work. So we can never pat ourselves and allow lethargy to take over. The hurricane after effect was not handled by the American authorities. But let us learn lessons from the London bombing, I think   the Indian government and the people need to take a lesson or two in the way the entire thing was handled, the chain of command was in operation, no rumours no panic and even the public was calm and cooperative.
