Kaun, Kab aur Kahaan (Part 2)
The next morning when the CID officers arrived at work, ACP gave them different tasks to to do. He sent Abhijeet to bring Payal's mother and brother into the office, told Muskaan to go to Mehta Industries to talk to Payal's coworkers, and took Daya with him to the hotel. He left Fredricks behind in order to find out more about Payal through the internet.
Rahul, the man who worked at the registration desk at Taj Hotel, had returned. Daya asked him whether he was fully confident that the girl who had reserved a room in Payal's name was actually not Payal. Rahul said that the girl's face was completely different from Payal's. He also told them that the girl had been carrying a heavy suitcase and struggling to drag it to the elevators. She refused assistance from all hotel staff. When ACP asked him to describe the girl, Rahul replied that she was very thin, very fair and had blue eyes. After writing all this information down, ACP and Daya left the hotel.
When they arrived at the office, Abhijeet was waiting there with Payal's griefstricken mother and brother. ACP was just about to ask them some questions when Muskaan came and began to inform them about a new development in the case. Payal had two good friends at work named Asha and Seema. They told Muskaan that two months ago, Payal had told them that she was in love with a man named Amit and they were planning to get married soon. They were both very happy for Payal, but upon Payal's request, they did not tell anyone else about this. Payal used to be very cheerful those days, so Asha and Seema were surprised that she left work without informing anyone.
After hearing this, Payal's mother exclaimed that it wasn't true. There was no man in Payal's life. However, just then, Payal's brother told them that it was all true. Sometimes at night, Payal used to go to Athena night club to meet Amit. One night, her brother caught her when she was leaving the house, so she told him the truth and requested that he not tell their mother about it yet. ACP immediately sent Abhijeet and Daya to Athena night club.
Some of employees of the night club were there. Abhijeet showed them Payal's picture and asked if they had seen her there. One of them said that Payal had come there several times with a man, and that man had been coming to the night club approximately every day with several different women. He suggested to Daya and Abhijeet that they return at midnight because it was likely that the man would be there. Daya explained to them not to let the man know that the CID was looking for him.
As they were returning to the office, they saw a crowd of people infront of a mansion. When they got out of their car and went into the crowd, they discovered that a girl about 18 years old had just fallen from her window and was lying dead on the ground. Daya called ACP and informed him about the incident while Abhijeet took a closer look at the body. Soon, a car stopped infront of the mansion and an elderly man got out. As soon as he saw the body, his face became white. He screamed and moved towards the body, but Daya stopped him. A few minutes later, when he calmed down a little, Abhijeet asked him his name and who the girl was. He told them that his name was Rakesh Malhotra and the girl was his daughter Mansi.
When ACP arrived at the scene, he told everyone to search the house. At that time there was no one else in the house. Mansi had been home alone. In her room, they found an empty bottle of poison and a half-drunk cup of tea. They asked Mansi's father for more information about her, but they only found out that she was a student in college and was generally a shy person.
When they took the body, the bottle of poison, and the cup of tea to Doctor Nayla, she was able to conclude within minutes that the tea had poison mixed in it, and this was the same poison that had killed Payal a day earlier. After the post mortem of Mansi's body, it was revealed that her veins also had the same poison. ACP called everyone into his office. There, he told them that the case was no longer about one murder. It was possible that someone was targetting young girls. That's why it had became very important that they find the killer as soon as possible and prevent the loss of more lives.

Kaun, Kab Aur Kahaan (Part 3)
At midnight Abhijeet, Daya and Muskaan went to Athena night club to find the man who Payal used to meet there. As soon as he saw them, one of the bartenders pointed out a man sitting at the bar. He was sitting alone and drinking a beer. Muskaan went and sat right next to him and smiled at him. In a few minutes, he had ordered a drink for Muskaan and began to talk to her. As soon as he mentioned that his name was Amit, Daya and Abhijeet came and surrounded him
When they showed him Payal's picture and told them that they are from CID, he became nervous. Immediately he began saying that he did not kill Payal. They asked him what his relationship was with Payal, and he said that Payal was his girlfriend, but he also had similar relations with several other girls. Abhijeet asked him whether he had promised Payal that he would marry her. Amit said definitely not. He was already married, and Payal knew this. The three of them thanked Amit for his cooperation and told him to come to their office the next morning. He agreed, but just to be safe, they decided to send an officer to his house to watch his movements.
The next day, when they arrived at the office, Doctor Naila was waiting for them. She had found out that the poision that had killed Payal & Mansi was produced at Mehta Industries, the same place where Payal used to work. They supplied it to only two other companies, who used it on animals for research purposes. Doctor Naila had called Mehta Industries and discovered that four days earlier, three bottles of the poison had disappeared from their inventory. This information suggested that the killer was an employee at Mehta Industries and had stolen the poison from there. ACP was thinking about this when Amit came into the office. ACP sent Daya and Fredricks to talk to Mehta Ji about this and stayed behind with Abhijeet to ask Amit some questions.
Daya asked Mehta Ji for the names of all the people who had the access to the room where the bottles of poison were kept. Mehta Ji called all those people into his office. Fredricks tried to ask them questions and figure out who stole the poison. They all claimed that they had not gone into the room the day the poison was stolen, and they began to support each other's claims as well. Mehta Ji told Daya that there was a girl who also had access to the room, but she had taken the day off so she was not currently in the office. Daya asked for her name and address. Mehta Ji said her name was Shalini Sinha and wrote her address down for him. One of the employees said that he had seen Shalini near the door of the inventory room the day the poison was stolen, but he was not sure whether or not she had entered the room.
While they were leaving the building, Daya noticed a picture and stopped in his tracks. On the wall it said "Employee of the Month" and there was a picture of a girl. Under it was the name Shalini Sinha. Fredricks asked Daya what happened, and Daya continued to look at the picture intently. Very thin, very fair, and blue eyes – exactly like the girl that Rahul had described. Was this the same girl who had resevered a hotel room in Payal's name?
In the car, Daya and Fredricks were discussing the possibility of Shalini being involed in this case. They were almost at the office when ACP called them and told them to come to Taj Hotel. When they arrived, ACP told them that a girl named Julie had been invited for a job interview at the hotel by a man named Anand Kapoor. When Julie arrived and Anand was introducing himself to her, Qureshi Sahib overheard him. He recognize the name as one that the CID had been asking about, and immediately informed ACP. Daya and Fredricks entered the hotel lobby and saw that a tall man wearing glasses was in handcuffs and Abhijeet was asking him questions.
Anand was crying and saying that he was not a murderer. He told them that a girl had given him money to do this job. His task was only to get Payal and Julie to the hotel, talk to them for a while, and use some excuse to take them to that girl's room. He had no idea what happened after that. Abhijeet asked him what the girl's name was. Anand said that he did not know her name, but she was a very thin, fair girl with blue eyes. Daya was shocked. Was it really Shalini Sinha who was behind all this?

Kaun, Kab Aur Kahaan (Part 4, concluding)
Upon hearing Anand Kapoor's description of the woman he worked for, Daya asked him about her hairstyle and hair color. Anand said that her hair was brown and very straight. After this, Daya became even more certain that the girl was Shalini Sinha. When he asked Anand for the room number where he took Payal to meet the woman, Anand said it was 308. This was not the same room where Payal had fallen from the balcony. Daya took Abhijeet and ACP aside and told them about Shalini. They agreed with him that it was important to find out more about her.
ACP called Qureshi Sahib over and asked him who had been staying in room 308 the night when Payal had been murdered. He looked in the registry and told him that it was reserved under the name of Amit Singh, who had been staying there for four nights, the last one being the night when Payal was murdered. Daya and Abhijeet looked at each other with startled expressions. Was this the same Amit that was Payal's boyfriend? Before they could say anything, ACP told them he was indeed the same Amit. When he had come to the office, he had written his name as Amit Singh. This evidence seemed to indicate that Amit was involved in the murders of Payal and Mansi.
That moment, Muskaan arrived at the scene. She had some interesting news. She told them that while carefully searching Mansi's room, she had found a photo that showed Amit and Mansi together! It seemed like Mansi was also one of Amit's girlfriends. Daya told Muskaan about everything they had just discovered. Muskaan was shocked. She couldn't understand why Amit would start a relationship with girls and then kill them.
They were just wondering about this when Daya received a call from Mehta Ji. He told them that Shalini had just called in to take the rest of the week off from work. She claimed that her mother was ill and she needed to go out of town. When Daya told this to ACP he decided that they should go to Shalini's house to check if she is there. He asked for her address. When Fredricks told him the address, ACP looked up suddenly in surprise and said that this was Amit's address! Shalini and Amit lived in the same house? It definitely seemed like they were both involved in the murders. ACP told Fredricks and Muskaan to wait at the hotel with Anand in case Shalini arrived there, and he took Daya and Abhijeet to Shalini and Amit's house.
When they knocked on the door of the house, Amit opened it. Daya and Abhijeet quickly surrounded him and began to ask him why he had killed Payal and Mansi. Amit looked stunned and asked them what happened to Mansi, as if he didn't know. Abhijeet told him to stop the drama and tell the truth. ACP told him that the CID had found out that Amit had stayed at Taj Hotel the night when Payal died, and Anand Kapoor had brought Payal to his room. Amit admitted that he had stayed in Taj Hotel, but insisted that he had checked out one morning before the day Payal had fallen from the balcony. Abhijeet asked him why he had needed a room in a hotel when he had such a nice house in Mumbai. Amit told them that his wife Shalini had found out about his relationships with other women and she had told him to leave the house.
ACP was not convinced that Amit was telling the truth. He asked him why Shalini was Shalini Sinha instead of Shalini Singh if they were infact married. Amit explained that Shalini did not want to change her name after their marriage, and as proof, he showed them a picture of their wedding hanging on the wall of the living room. Daya asked Amit how he was able to work things out with Shalini and return home. Amit told them that when he called Shalini over and over again for three days and apologized, she finally came to meet him at the hotel. There, Amit promised her that he would never look at another woman again. Finally Shalini forgave him and they returned home.
For this first time, ACP began to think that perhaps Amit was not lying. He asked him who had returned the keys to the hotel staff. Amit told him that he was about to return them, but Shalini had taken them from him, and went to return them herself while she told Amit to bring the car to the front of the hotel. At that moment, Daya suddenly remembered Julie, the girl who Anand had just called to the hotel. When he mentioned the name to Amit, he told them that she had also been one of his girlfriends. Now ACP understood everything clearly. Shalini had kept the keys and the room for an extra day. But where was this Shalini? Amit told them that he had been trying her phone for a long time but she wasn't answering. Just then, Fredricks called ACP. He told them that Shalini had come to the hotel to meet Anand and kill Julie, and he and Muskaan had arrested her. ACP, Daya and Abhijeet took Amit with them and headed back to the hotel.
As soon as she saw them, Shalini began to cry and confessed to the murder. He told them that even after forgiving Amit, she could not be content. She was afraid that the three girls that he was involved with would eventually try to enter his life again. Shalini found out that Payal had left her job at Mehta Industries and was looking for a new job, so she decided to use this to her advantage. Amit interrupted to explain to the CID that Payal had left Mehta Industries because Shalini worked there. Just a few days before she left the job, Amit had told her that he was not willing to leave his wife for her. Payal became angry at him and stopped talking to him. She then decided to leave Mehta Industries because she couldn't tolerate seeing Shalini on a regular basis.
ACP told Shalini to continue her story. She told them that she had stolen poison from her company. Then she had hired Anand Kapoor. After having dinner with Payal and talking to her about a job offer, Anand had taken her to Shalini's room, claiming that the women in the room was the manager of a big company that wanted to hire Payal. The light in the room was dim and Shalini was wearing dark glasses and a wig so Payal wouldn't recognize her. She offered Payal a drink with the poison in it, and without suspecting anything, Payal drank it. When she had died, Shalini became a little worried. She didn't know what to do with the body. Finally she decided to get a room in Payal's name and took Payal's body there in a suitcase. Shalini waited and planned her moves until the morning and then threw the body off the balcony. Then she ran out of the room hiding her face with a shawl. She was sure the the police would think it was a suicide.
The next day, Shalini went to Mansi's house and watched as Mansi's father drove away. Then she entered secretly through a window. By sneaking around quietly she quickly discovered that Mansi was alone. There was a cup of tea on her bedside table, but Mansi was downstairs talking on the phone. Shalini mixed poison in the tea and hid behind a cabinet. She watched as Mansi returned, drank the tea and eventually died. Then she threw her out of the window. Just as she was about to pick up the bottle of poison, she saw from a window that the CID inspectors were getting out of their car outside the house. She accidentally left the bottle behind as she rushed out of the house through the back door. Even when she realized that she had left behind the bottle, Shalini believed she would still be safe because the CID would not be able to trace it back to her.
ACP told her that she had made a big mistake by underestimating the CID. Now after killing two girls and planning the murder of a third, it was time for her to prepare for atleast a lifetime in jail, if not the death sentence.
