The cast of Kuselan, the upcoming Rajinikanth film which is a remake of the Malayalam Katha Paryumbol is getting finalized. The pivotal roles will be done by Rajinikanth and Pasupathy and there have been varied rumors regarding the lady leads in the film. Many leading names were discussed but not confirmed. As regards super star's

Meena

heroine, Nayanthara turned lucky for the third consecutive time and bagged the role.

Now for the role of Pasupathy's wife, Tabu and Simran were considered but they were not able to give their consent due to their prior commitments. In the original version Meena was the wife of Sreenivasan and the mother of three children. When she was approached to do the same role in Tamil, she has also agreed. While talking to the media, director P Vasu said, "As per Kuselan's script, Meena's role is that of a young mother whose children are in the school going age group. Her performance was wonderful in Katha Paryumbol and we were very keen that she does the same role in Tamil too. We are also very sure that Meena is the right choice for this role and thankfully she has also agreed to do the film".

More news regarding that movie:

Trisha might have missed the chance of acting with the superstar. But she is dancing with him for a single song. It will be in 'Kuselan', Rajinikanth's next film.

Wait. Trisha is not the only star who is dancing with the superstar. The song has Kamal Haasan, Ajith, and Vijay as well. The movie, portraying Rajini as a superstar, has a song sequence featuring all these stars.

When director P. Vasu requested all these stars, everyone immediately accepted to act. So, we will get to see many leading stars appearing together on screen after a long time.

this is great news!ClapClap meena is a great actress, she might not have impressed me in masthana masthana but she still makes me applaud her acting in films.

i'm glad they choose a good replacement for simran.Tongue

ha.. trisha lost out the chance to be in a rajini film yet again? it's so pathetic that she's reduced to doing an item number for the film. anyways, it's her loss & nayanthara's gain.

wow.. ajith & vijay together in a song? that's something to watch out for.Big smile kamal hassan agreed to share screen space with rajini? that's indeed a miracle. kamal's huge ego usually doesn't allow anyone else to share the screen space with him.LOLLOL

there's also Vasool Raja M.B.B.S with prabhu.Smile

meli, have you noticed that in all the films you mentioned, kamal hassan overshadowed the other hero by a whole mile? he gets the other person to play second fiddle for him, never playing it himself. so to me, it as good as not sharing screen space with anyone.LOLLOL

the old film of ajith & vijay is called Rajavin Parvayil meli.Smile ajith dies in the film though, maybe because vijay was a bigger star then the director couldn't make him die instead.LOLLOL

Hey Leena,

Kamal is one actor who I think gives priority to roles rather than hogging the limelight...Eg:

1. Sathi Leelavathi- Equal importance was given to Ramesh Arvind

2. Thenali - Jayaram had an equally good role

3. Virumaandi - Pasupathi had a very powerful role.. almost equal to Kamal

4. Vetri Vizaa - Prabhu had a very nice role

5. Magalir Mattum - Nasar was the main role and Kamal comes only in the last scene

Even in Anbe Sivam Madhavan had a major role and was there with Kamal almost through out the movie.

Not many heroes are willing to act in movies where screen space is equally shared by powerful performers!!! So I think Kamal is different that way as he is not intimidated by the presence of another hero.

What I like about his movies are that the other characters are also noticable and get recognized for their performance.

My 2 centsSmile

I agree with you dear!!!!

Same here not a useless actress.

Money is what matters to her. Not storyline.

wow.. ajith & vijay together in a song? Yeah, after many years which i saw them together in an odd movie which wos a flop.  that's something to watch out for.Big smile kamal hassan agreed to share screen space with rajini? that's indeed a miracle. Well, after many years, before they shared many screen space in numerous films back in the days.

kamal's huge ego usually doesn't allow anyone else to share the screen space with him.LOLLOL Thats well true.
