Lakshmi

I am having a project on school and are going to write about ''Lakshmi''

Can any hindu/indian help me with finding some facts about ''lakshmi''?...Can anyone tell me a history/incident or something where ''lakshmi'' plays the main character?

Since I am not hindu, I don't know aloabout indian gods.. But i really hope some religious person out here on I-F can really help me😳
