yeah the books are quite difficult to read b/c of all the weird names and locations, but they are manageable if you have the time and patience.  The movies were GREAT and they did a good job of skimming the excess material without cutting out important details

I saw the movie 1st and then read the books, which is unusual for me as I generally do it the other way round.

I saw all the 3 movies... I loved them... When the 1st movie was released, I was told that the book was bad(dragging) but the movie was good....
