It is described as an "anokhi jung" with "dus mashoor jodiyan". At a media meet held at the J W Marriott, Juhu, yesterday, Star One unveiled their mega show called Nach Baliye.
It will feature 10 telly couples who will, as the title implies, shake a leg to win the title. What's interesting is that none of these couples have received any formal training in dance.
A choreographer will help them through the paces as part of the rehearsals.
Varun Badola and Rajeshwari Sachdev
Nach Baliya will air Tuesdays to Thursday at 9 pm, from October 11.
The first two days will provide an insight into the lives of celeb couples, how they live, who their families and friends are, and how they adapt to married life.
The Thursday episode will feature a dance performance which will be judged by the jury and viewers.
Shakti Anand and Sai Deodhar
Besides dancing ability, compatibility, cooperation, popularity and coordination will also be judged.
This interactive reality show claims several firsts — the first time that celebs are competing against each other; the first time that celeb couples come together in a show and reveal their private lives. It will be anchored by telly actors Shabbir Ahluwalia and Sangeeta Ghosh.
According to Sameer Nair, COO, Star India, "Nach Baliye is one more show after The Great Indian Laughter Challenge to provide the audience with innovative content."
As for the couples themselves they are ready to rock.
