we would have been in a stronger position to argue about the whole matter and not be labeled as sore losers!

there are 5 or 6 specialist batsmen. if you take 2 of them (Ganguly and Dravid) out by bad umpiring, you've cut your batting line-up by a hefty percentage. Aussies should try playing without two of their key players. would see how far that got them. actually, rather than play without players, looks like they had additional batsmen. like 3 or 4. that's the number of times they let symonds and others bat on after they were out. it would be hard to beat even the mohalla-ka-team under those stacked-deck circumstances.

I agree to that...but just if they showed more grit they would have been on a higher moral ground...not that they already arent on one!

as for kumble calling the meeting, i suppose that's the only way BCCI will buckle down. BCCI gets it's bread buttered playing along with the ICC. sure players too get a good deal, but when there are alternate leagues such as ICL starting off, players should dump the BCCI if it doesn't play ball.

i think this time sharad pawar will find it tough going against the players and the outrage at home- there are gonna be political elections one of these days.

this is true.. we should have atleast drawn.. to defend such things. Now it appears we are like sore losers......sadly. If we allowed them to go from 131 for 6 to 450 something we are bad but they reached hat because of umpiring decisions and the result would have been different if for that monkey bucknor... Symonds is hardly a monkey he looks like a llama to me....with all those reds and browns....

TallyHoji that is exactly what Team India was trying to do. Keep playing, and not loose any wickets as long as they could. However when their players were being sent back to the dressing room as a result of plain crappy decisions their game plan bit the dust.

Had the Australian first inning played out without any help from the umps, it is very likely that we would all have been breaking out the bubbly today instead of suffering this heart ache.

wonder why they persist with guys like bucknor who've had a bad track record at umpiring. should be fired for incompetence. and how did even the 3rd umpire get it wrong? kaheen "ghoos" ka mamla toh naheen hai? Wink

fwiw, i read somewhere that lee was trying to play it diplomatically. someone knows they still need to get to indian audiences for that big ad money.
