DOTW (Discussion of the Week) - We will have weekly discussions on different topics and/or issues regarding Shah Rukh Khan. There will not be any prizes/awards based on this segment; it is now just a participation discussion! 😊

This week's discussion question:

As we all know, the music of Chak de India is set to release on the first of August... what are your expectations for the music of this extremely awaited SRK film?! Have you already heard some songs from the soundtrack?! If so, what are your opinions on it so far?! How would you rate the soundtrack on a scale of 10 (with 10 being the best, of course)?! If you haven't yet heard the music of Chak de India, how would you rate your anxiousness to hear it?! 😉

Games - Chak de OR Chak de Phatte?! 😉

In this game, members will post anything about SRK or anything remotely related to him... the next member will either say Chak de (as in get rid of it, it was okay, etc.) OR they'll say Chak de Phatte (as in fabulous, outstanding, etc.)! Get it?! 😛

Here's an example:

Member 1: SRK in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai?!

Member 2: Chak de Phatte!!

Member 2: SRK's smoking habit?!

Member 3: Chak de!!

And then Member 3 will post the next and so on... 😃

😉 SONG CONTEST! 😉

I will be giving you verses of songs from SRK's movies (this means, the song was not necessarily picturized on SRK, but SRK was in some way a part of the movie... whether it be a special appearance or a full-on lead role)!

What you'll need to do:

*Guess which movie the clue is from AND exactly which song it is from that movie!

*You will PM me your answers (the movie title AND at least one to two lines from the beginning of the song) for all 10 clues!
-Please make sure you title the PM as SRK Contest or something along those lines so I know what it is for! 😳

*BONUS: If the song listed is not picturized on SRK, provide me the name(s) of the actor/actress that the song was pictrized on!

*This contest will be point-based:

-For every correct movie title you will get 5 points!
-For every correct line(s) from the song, you will get 5 points!
-For every correct bonus response, you will get 5 points!

**There will be a total of 3 bonus questions!**

Therefore, your maximum score can be 115 points! 😉

And... of course, the members with the highest scores win!

Shah Rukh is a techno freak

King Khan reveals that he is a total techno freak. SRK seemed childishly excited while speaking about his hobby at an event to announce the latest range of computers for Compaq for which he is the brand ambassador.

"I just love to get every new invention and I love to bring whatever I know to every shoot and make it a point to see that, technically, everything is the best it can be. I love it when the studio is technically well equipped; I want to give back to the industry by improving the quality of special effects."

The gizmo maniac added, "I love working on my personal laptop which is always with me. I make notes on it and it really helps my acting. I also like to play games on my laptop but I mostly utilize it for my work as a producer."

Khan continues, "I make marketing campaigns and jingles for films which are refused at times, but I hope they will be accepted sometimes."

The family man that he is, he recently bought a one for his wife Gauri too. Shah Rukh is very impressed with the technological growth in India over the years. "From when I was really young, I recognized how technology was growing in our country. At one time, I didn't even know how to operate an ATM. Often my kids come to me and ask me for things and I tell them to search for them on the computer. It's so full of information and knowledge, my children can learn so much and have the joy of having learnt it on their own."

Shah Rukh starrer Chak De India releases on the 10th of August.

If the latest buzz is to be believed, Sivaji director, Shankar has approached SRK for his next venture, supposedly, a sci-fi flick.A source close to the director says, "Shankar wanted Hrithik but it seems that he won't be able to do the film because he has already committed to his father Rakesh Roshan for Krrish 2.Now, Shankar has approached SRK and he has agreed."
It was only on the actor's request that the shooting will commence after a while. SRK has agreed to begin shooting for Shankar's film only after as he completes Shirish Kunder's film, which is untitled so far.

Telugu star to take on SRK

Tuesday, July 17, 2007: (Hyderabad):

Narayanamurthy is a popular face in Telugu cinema known for his revolutionary brand of films that tilt towards leftist ideology is a huge name in Telugu films.

Now he is making his first Hindi film Yeh dharti hamaari that is a remake of his 1994 Telugu superhit, Erra Sainyam or Red Army.

"My subject is linked to human emotions. Like Dilip Kumar's Ganga Jamuna, Amitabh Bachchan's Ganga ki Saugandh and Mother India. My subject is how rural innocent people are feeling, how they are exploited by the non-tribals," said R Narayanamurthy.

Narayanamurthy's film releases on the August 10 and will pit itself against Shah Rukh Khan's Chakde India.

"Shah Rukh Khan is the megastar in India. In Andhra, they call me people's star but I know I am a zero in Hindi. But when thousands of people go to see Shah Rukh Khan's film, there will be many who do not get tickets. I hope that overflow will come to my film," Narayanamurthy added.

In an industry, where there are less hits and more misses, 12 of Narayanamurthy's 19 films have been huge hits, raking in the moolah in the B and C centres.
