B engal's Payel Sarkar has entered tellydom. Sarkar, who plays the lead protagonist Shruti in Anurag Basu's Love Story (Monday-Thursday, Sab TV), says she's working with one of the best directors in the industry and that it's a dream come true. Her choice Originally from Kolkata, Sarkar is a graduate in history and was considering studying for her MA but then acting hap- pened. She says, "I've done two Ben- gali films. I was planning to continue with my studies but then I was offered a movie and I had to make a choice. I chose acting." While shooting for that film (I Love You), she got a call from Basu for Love Story. "I went to meet him with my portfolio, he offered me the role. I didn't give it a second thought and jumped at the opportunity," she says. Sarkar believes every upcoming artiste wants to work with Basu after his work on films like Gangster and Metro. Work only Sarkar says she gets along very well with all her co-stars. "They are very friendly. It's great to know them all. We have good fun on the sets when we're not working," she says. But what's her equation with with Mishal Raheja, her romantic lead in Love Story? "We are good friends and there's nothing cooking. We shoot for 15 hours a day. We have time for nothing else." she counters. Offers on offer For work, she's open to all kinds of daily soaps. She says, "I'll do a show with any production house if they give me a good script. "I've been offered a few shows, but I can't take up any- thing right now because I'm busy with Love Story for 25 days in the month," she says. Will she accept a movie offer from Basu? "Well, let's see if something shapes up after Love Story," she ends.
