Rape is the only incident I totally understand. But they have option of taking 72 hr pill as Maya posted or having an abortion in 1st trimester.
The same thing applies for other pregnant women. why abort in 2nd or 3rd trimester when they could have aborted within the first trimester. What more can they realize bet 1st and 3rd trimester that they did not know unless it is due to medical reason they must abort the baby.
This is why I said I am in dilemma and on the fence even though I am pro-choice.

No. I don't. But I have given you the reply to your question on what a woman should do when she gets pregnant after a rape. She should abort the FETUS or take a 72 hour pill. But waiting till 3rd trimester is not justified.

God forbid , but if it ever happened to me, my first reaction would be to get rid of the foetus as soon as I find out. Call it anger, disgust, desperation whatever, but I will not wait for 6 months before I decide on getting rid of the baby.

I am sorry but I am not good at deciphering slang talk so I hope I got your point. 1 st trimester is 3 months and after that there are another 3 months in 2 nd trimester. But waiting till the last minute and claiming that only then a rape victim actually regained her senses is not justifiable.

Agreed Mannu but I am hoping there is some counselling which is taking place for her to put her mental, emotional life back together to some extent. Some guidance is there in making such a big decision. No one is sliding the real issue here. Hope u understand that.
