MUMBAI: Filmy steps into Bhojpuri films by roping Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishan as a movie jockey on the channel. Ravi Kishan will be presenting his film Ganga to be premiered on Filmy on 29 April at 8:00 pm.
Filmy marketing and content head Shailesh Kapoor said, "The Bhojpuri industry is growing bigger day by day and Ravi Kishan is a superstar of Bhojpuri cinema. We have invited him on the channel to present the superhit film Ganga and provide our audience a taste of Bhojpuri cinema. Our entry into Bhojpuri cinema is in line with our efforts to provide our viewers the best in movie entertainment across all genres." Kapoor also pointed out how Ravi Kishan's presence on reality show Big Boss had seen broadcaster Sony reaping a significant upsurge in TRPs from the Hindi heartland. "By getting him to do the MJ act, we expect to capture the North Indian crowd and shoot our TRPs there," Kapoor said.
Speaking about his new role Kishan said, "This is a nice opportunity to popularize Bhojpuri cinema on TV as well and I am glad that Filmy took this step." Kishan will be sharing trivia, anecdotes and other details of the making of Ganga, thus making the whole movie an enjoyable experience. Apart from this, he has also been invited by the channel to sit on the "pot seat" of Kaun Banega Champu which is a spoof of Kaun Banega Crorepati. |
