Totally Non-Committed bunch of players
It is not surprising a bit that the Indian team couldn't make it to even the super-8. The way we batted so tentatively against Bangladesh itself is enough proof that we don't deserve to make it to the next stage.
It is not the result of any match that matters but the way a team wins or looses that matters the most. Honestly, when we look back, we must thank our stars that we din't have to expose our lack of competitiveness (be it in batting, bowling or our perennial fielding abilities) to the wrath of teams like Australia or S.A.
Senior players like Sachin, Sourav or Dravid feel that its beyond their dignity to throw themselves in the field. Just make them watch a couple of footage of how Jayasurya, Murali, Ponting are on the field. (they are older or at least as old as these guys are). All this is becasue we rest on our past glories. For the matches we've won mostly have come in playing in domestic soil. But even then, these pitches were no different from the domestic pitches in terms of assisting batsmen were concerned. Again if players feel they cannot do the job, please for heaven sake leave way to those whoc can. If India has to win match, the following condtions are to be met:
1. Pitch should be batting friendly while we bat
2. Bowler friendly while we bowl
3. Senior and prominent players in the opposition should not be playing
4. Our batsmen should have 2 lives each
5. The matches should be on dates while the players are not shooting for comercials
6. After all, the opposition team has to be bermuda
Again, its not the result that matters but the way how we fight that matters.
