Virrudh reminds me of Mahayagya

I dunno why !!!!whenever I saw the promo on TV it reminded me of a serial called MAHAYAGYA !!!!

Rohini Hattangadi, Manohar Singh and Govind Namdeo  Played a very power packed role and especially Rohini played it too good.... I used to watch this serial with my DAD.

Virrudh gives me the same vibes???? If you have seen Mahayagya ?? What do you think?

I remember the watching the show when it re-ran. It was a good show. Being in war and so strong, I loved the way they handeled the rape and marriage. All the characters were well defined. I loved the way they showed the love blossomming between Rohini's daughter and Govind Namdev's son..sorry don't remember the names. It was long time back....

But I am not sure about Virudh's being same. Here the daughter is the main lead while there parents (middle-aged) people were main lead.

Just my 2 cents

SYNOPSIS:

It used to come on SONY ....it was long before may be 5-7 yrs back .....

Yeah there is no match ./.... Virrudha is entirely diffennt but the way the promo was show it was again about POWER, RELATIONS, POLITICS AND ALL.....

I dunno if many people have seen this one !!!!!

Actually it was not Govind Namdeo's son... it was Manohar Singh's son... played by Kumud Mishra... (Awesome actor... wonder where he is though!!!)

It was a socio-political drama.

It was about this guy a politician Thakur Banu Pratap Singh, played by Manohar Singh. He has a son, who is a wastrel. His younger brother is Chote Thakur (played by Govind Namdeo).He has a daughter Suhasini (Played by the lady who was Pooja in Swabhimaan).

Banu's close friend a honest politician dies during election time. His wife, Vimla Pandey (Rohini Attangadi) stands for the election in his stead and wins. her younger brother's wife stays with her too... and she has a daughter Preeti.

Vimla and Banu have animosity... and Banu's son in a fit of rage Rapes preeti... in fact preeti is gang raped... and Banu's son is bit by the consicious bug and he marries preeti eventually falling in love with her... and she with him...

We also have another track of Suhashini (She is an IAS officer in the serial) falling in love with a man of low caste (even though he is a judge)... played by Anoop Soni.

they even get married secretly and nobody knows that ... but her dad, when he gets to know that his daughter loves a man of low caste, kills both his daughter and the man that she loves.

In the end, we are shown the reason for the animosity... vimla loves Manohar singh... and since she could not get him... all this.
