Am just talking about some sections of people, no offense please

- Muslims living in India, if there is India Vs Pakistan cricket match, support Pakistan, infact u can hear crackers when Pakistan defeats India.

- Sikh of indian origin, lives in Brazil as a citizen in a India Vs Brazil soccer clash, supports India.

Raises a question:

Should people support their teams based on religion/originality or based on which country they reside or are citizen of? What do you think?

Ok..ok I get you.Big smile

Seriously speaking a person should support the country where s/he resides especially if s/he is a citizen and not just a temporary resident. Of course they can also appreciate or cheer their country of origin or their preferred team (whatever the reason maybe for their preference) but the loyalty should lie with the country of which they are a citizen. They atleast should not be happy just because their adopted country (or in case of some Indian muslims, even their country of origin) has lost which is what happens among some people of India.

Smart answer, as usualClap LOL ...  How about a more realistic one, similar to #1?

England Vs India - Cricket -> Person is Hindu - Indian original born and bought up in Eng - Whom should he/she cheer for ? Smile

From what i've seen supporting a country based on religion is unheard of. When the Fifa world cup was here in 2006 i wasn't rooting for Saudi (islamic country) lol i was rooting for England.
Origin does come into it too when supporting a country, you can't expect people to forget their roots.
When the country your residing in and the your country of origin are both bad at the sport, then go for the best team to win LOL
Seriously, in the premier league half the people don't support their home team they go for the ones that are good at the game. Which is why they are in the Premier league.
