Egg : Vegetarian or Non- Vegetarian

Hello Guys,

                   

Hope all are fine.

I don't know weather this topic can be debated on. But, want to ask couple of things.

1)     Is Egg vegetarian or non vegetarian

 

2)      If it is vegetarian then mostly in pastries, cakes, biscuits etc.. egg is used.(I know for special occasion like birthday egg less cakes can be made but that will be specially ordered but what if you go out with friends and eat any where or it is served to you at your friends place).

 

3)     This one might me odd but want to know is soft drinks(Pepsi, Coca Cola) vegetarian or non vegetarian.

 

Note:- If some or the other way any on feeling offended then plz pm me will make this topic close.

As far as I know vegetarians can eat egg... it is vegans who can't eat egg or drink milk. Soft drinks-well one of my friends is a vegetarian and she drinks soft drinks...

2)      If it is vegetarian then mostly in pastries, cakes, biscuits etc.. egg is used.(I know for special occasion like birthday egg less cakes can be made but that will be specially ordered but what if you go out with friends and eat any where or it is served to you at your friends place). yes, pure vegetarians normally ask for egg-less cakes

 

3)     This one might me odd but want to know is soft drinks(Pepsi, Coca Cola) vegetarian or non vegetarian. I think its veg...i don't think it has any non-veg extract, but I have never really read the labels w/ so much care or heard about anything in it. I though its just flavored soda....

ooo ok when i posted above I didn't know the difference b/w those two. Thanks for pointing that out. I guess then eggs is vegetarian. Is that because its not directly meat? But doesnt it eventually turn into meat......Confused

Anyways, I just googled out info on difference between vegetarian and vegan for those that are interested:

What's the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan?
Vegetarians, or lacto-ovo-vegetarians, do not eat any meat products, but they eat dairy products and eggs. Vegetarians need to know whether a product contains gelatine or other meat-based products. Vegans do not consume any animal products.

Seeing things going in wrong direction, made me write on this topic.

I am jain & 100% vegetarian. According to our religion egg is not vegetarian. It's treated as non-vegetarian. Yes we don't eat pastries or even biscuits etc which has eggs or any shape/form of egg.

The difference between vegetarian & vegan as far as I know is, vegan don't take milk products and we do.

Soft drinks pepsi etc are vegetarian.

The scientific and medical research says that drinking Pepsi & Cola leads to cancer because the key element is taken from Pigs sausage.

I agree with those that vegans are pure vegeterians as they do not eat any animal or milk products.

Though there are many classifications of vegeterians like in past those who ate fish n chicken were in european countries thought as vegeterian.

My mom who grew up in a veg household, however, some sisters after marriage do eat cakes with egg products,  but many who claim tobe pure veg do not consider them selves as non- veg because they eat  pasteries etc..
