Recently the Salman Khan controversy sparked a series of questions in my
mind and I wanted all of you to give me your views on this topic. Salman
Khan is not the first celeb to be embroiled in a controversy of this kind.
People like Sanjay Dutt, Govinda and Mahesh Manjerakar have also been
involved with the underworld. Besides this is not the first time that
Salman Khan has done something that is unlawful. A series of incidents
come to mind when you think of Salman breaking the law: the black buck
case, the case when he ran over the people sleeping on the pavements.
And each time the film industry and the media has always excused him
saying that he is a nice person but a little gullible. What irkes me is the
fact that because he is a star and star son no one seems to hold him
accountable. It was common knowledge that Salman used to physically
abuse Ash and yet when the industry had to choose they stood in support
of Salman over Ash. I personally believe that every citizen should be held
accountable for what they do irrespective of their status in the society. I
know that it is not going to happen. But for a repeat offender like Salman
should'nt the public decide to do something. I know we cant really punish
him but should we encourage such behaviour by endorsing his films? Is'nt
it time that Salman is held accountable for his deeds? Is'nt it time that the
film fraternity realise that Salman is a criminal and stop molly coddling
