Harry Potter... I haven't read Lord of the Rings, but I've heard about it, and it seems very similar.... But still I'd prefer Harry Potter... There's something about JO's magic!!! Big smile

i tried reading LOTR but got lost half way thru... the narration is way too
detailed and the english is way too complicated... after i'd finish reading a
page or two, i'd have to go back to what i read before to understand what's
happening... this is the reason i prefer Harry Potter over LOTR... both are
great stories but JKR's writing style just keeps you glued to the books... she
gives enough details but never too much to move away from the story...

LOTR is more for the adult reader but HP is for anyone and everyone

I certainly prefer HARRY POTTER!!!!

Like Rashmi said, I started reading LOTR, but after around ten chapters I was lost. I didn't have any trouble with the story-it's a classic no doubt, but the history is too long and most of all the book was too huge and the letters too small that my eyes were aching in the end!!!

I prefer HP-as JK weaves a magic around us. She draws us into Harry's world and makes us feel with him-we cry, we hate, we love wih Harry.

Tolkein's works re classics, but HP have drawn our hearts in a simple style which we can relate to.
