It definitely is Harry potter. JK Rowling has a unique style of expressing things. You will never find the books boring. In fact you will find it difficult to put the book down once you starts reading. While the story line of LOTR is interesting, the narration occassionally becomes too much descriptive and often quite boring.

In HP series, the books are more interesting than the movies but I feel that LOTR movies are more fun than reading the books.

I personally like Harry Potter better, but you can't really say one's better than the other. It depends on your likes and dislikes. =)

ohk...i'd say i like bothSmile though LOTR is a literature classic that has withstanded the test of time and it's pretty much the one that paved the way for all the similar books that followed it (ie. Harry Potter, Narnia, Eragon, etc.)... there is also a loads similarities between two for example Both had dark lords (LOTR - Sauron and HP - Voldemort)
