It is indeed sad to see this serious issue, today in 2007, being
reduced to a pawn in the game of cheap commercialism on a third rate tv
show -- have no sympaty at all for the participant.

Look now who is discriminating. Wink

the fact is that BB is such show-based on the veiwership and target
audience of the show--its a show targeted at the guy sitting in a local
pub in london in the East end. So, there is no issue about discrimination
here-its a fact I am not their target audience...To have some knowledge
of what the media's intent is, is not at all bad, its called being informed--
since we live in a media savvy age, it is imperative for most of us to be
well informed on the commercial aspects of the media.

So now according to you an innocent guy who is sitting at some local pub is a third rate human being and you are far superior to such people. And what about those people who are sitting in their home, watching BB and then eagerly coming on IF to exchange their opinions? Wink

It is not according to me-it is a fact if u have any idea at all about the
doings of the media. If u looked around we live in 2007, and we are
referrd to in the media not as citizens but as consumers... The media is in
hte business of selling , they have target audience--Its not according to
me anything --the facts are there in front of u if u choose to look...&
think. (I am speaking from a bckgrnd in these matters) In fact, a tv show
as any film being produced always does research in marketing ot a target
audience... It is imperative that ppl get media savvy. as we live in the
information age..There were articles in the media by Germaine Greer and
Barkha Dutt, and in Outlook India over this issue BB/SS issue and they
were thought provoking articles.....
We live in a democracy and all of us are entitled to our opinions...That's
the beauty of Democracy....that today we can have a healthy discussion
with differences of opinions.....And in a democratic universe ppl are free
to do what they want.....

I don't need to defend anything, the facts are b4 u if u choose to look &
think...

As I said before these are my toughts on the matter and I am not here to
change anyones mind--
Just Chill guys.

Are you trying to give me a lesson in STP?? LOL I don't need one, I'm pretty good at that. Wink

Since you are quoting the rules of democracy, let me tell you it also gives a person rights to use fairness cream without getting insulted by others for it. It also gives every person the right to watch whichever program he/she deems suitable without being labelled as third rate people.

I just hope you haven't offended the frequent posters in the BB forum of IF. Wink
