You cannot easily buy guns in US, for every gun purchase there is a federal background check, your firearm is registered with ATF.  Also the gun used in the attack was an automatic rifle which has been banned in the US since 1986.

May all the people who lost their lives RIP.  Prayers for those injured.

For the life of me, have never understood why regular Americans would need guns for their safety.  That's what the law enforcement officials are for.  That's how the rest of the world operates.
What's worse is that the gun control laws are not even stringent so it's pretty easy for people to get their hands on such deadly weapons.
Every so often we hear of shootings (at malls, schools, concerts etc) across USA.  And yet NRA is still not classified as a terrorist organization. ðŸ¥±

the regular american own guns in US is because of the 2nd amendment of the US Constitution.
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

the guy used an automatic rifle that has been banned in US since 1986, and a person cannot go and get a firearm without a background check.

In Nevada it's really easy no background checks

US Government trumps Nevada government.  same as government of India trumps government of Maharashtra.
Every firearm you purchase there is background check done on you by FBI, ATF.  Gunshop owners will not sell you a gun without a background check, if they do so then they lose their license to sell guns.  Gun laws are really strict in US, not easy to obtain a gun today.

USA is a federation unlike India which is a union. so, while in India CG trumps SG, the same is not the case in the US as the states there have autonomous powers.
