Its wednesday and it is Retro night😃.

This week we continue our journey on Retro Cafe with

 the man behind some wonderfully scripted movies and some moving poetry.

Who can be immune to the underlying plea and simmering romance in the lyrics of " ek din aap yun humko mil jayenge, phool hi phool rahon mein khil jayenge... maine socha na thaa.........."  The ability to feel the pulse of a young couple poised on the brink of tender love and convert that into beautiful lyrics, that is the wonder of Javed Saab and the lyricsts of his and earlier periods.

Kathai aankhon wali ek ladki.... a beautiful song from the movie Duplicate is said to be a personal favourite of Javed Saab as he wrote the lyrics for his wife Shabana Azmi.

That is so sweet. I didn't know this fact. It is indeed a beautiful song. Gulzar and Javed Akhtar are two beautiful treats for this holiday mood.
