Saroj Khan is peeved at Tanaaz-Bakhtyaar' s dance performance
in 'Nach Baliye'
Getting blasted by the judges of 'Nach Baliye2' (Star One) was the
last thing that Tanaaz Lal and Bakhtyaar Irani would have expected
after giving ace performances every week ever since the series
Whilst speaking on their performance, Saroj Khan says fumingly, "It
was too hard hitting! It was loud and vulgar, to say the least!
After weeks of entertaining us with perfect performances, their
regional dance was shocking. A symbol of welcome, 'Vanakam', that is
sacred to South India cannot be rehashed and mixed with dance forms
of other regions of India. Added to that, Bakhtyaar's frontal pelvic
movements along with lewd faces were too much to digest. All three
of us –Kunal (Kohli), Malaika (Arora Khan) and myself- turned to
look at each other with shock at the very same moment."
Saroj adds, "Also, Tanaaz took a lift and stood on Bakhtyaar's thigh
and she had one finger in the air, which is a step synonymous to
Saroj says, "It is their overconfidence that has been their downfall
this time. They are not novices; they know what they should and
should not do. They overdid all the steps as if to show that they
had more energy than other jodis. To make matters worse, Tanaaz
broke down in the green room and apologised to Bakhtyaar for letting
him down. But to our surprise, Bakhtyaar calmly replied, "Its okay,
we are the best!" and we three judges just laughed at his folly for
not understanding how badly they had let us down with this
performance. Had it been from any other jodi, we would not have been
as surprised. "
On how the first edition of the show was different from this, Saroj
says, "We were all very raw in the first series. Now, there is
fierce competition between good dancers."
