This is the most relevant bit.

Among the Hindi GECs, Star Plus aired Bajrangi Bhaijaan on Sunday, which delivered viewership for the channel and hence the channel bounced back to the No.1 spot after being on the second spot in week 16. Colors' viewership increased on Saturday due to the World Television Premier of Bajirao Mastani' and it stood at No.2. Sony Pal saw growth on the back of episodes of CID and hence acquired the third spot, a spot higher than week 16.

This is solid proof that CID gets TRPs...They are using CID to boost Sony Pal.

CID on Sony Pal has been enjoying more viewership than CID on Sony and this has been a trend since a month or two now.
Newer episodes are not getting the required TRP and we all know why. Since the repeats on SP are more interesting, people prefer watching those.

And about male viewership or the viewership in general, the PH , channel and even the media is the most misinformed about. They think CID, CP, etc to be male stuff. They are living on Mars, I think.

Why so much brouhaha about TKSS ratings. Just after two weeks it has come down to 1.2 which is the same as Comedy Nights Live on COLORS. CNL is running for quite some time. CID has maintained very good ratings for over a decade. Yet the channel has sacrificed it wrongly. Our sincere request to the makers of the show 'Please go to a rival channel and allow us to see the show.'

They mean that men tend to prefer watching Sony over Star Plus and Colors due to the nature of some of its shows. Not really that only men watch CID, but certainly a lot more men watch or at least prefer CID over Sasuraal Simar Ka.
