Both Alaka and Shantanu stand in their respective boats floating on the Ganges staring at each other. The strains of 'Tere Liye' plays in the background. After some time, Shantanu asks Alaka how she was doing. To this Alaka says that she's ok. Shantantu mentions that a lot has changed during the past few years and today she is in front of him as a widow. Alaka says that this is what was written in her fate. She then questions him whether his wife, Malvika has come with him to Benaras? Shantanu, with a pained expression, tells her that that she has indeed come with him to Benaras in the form of a handful of ashes and that he had returned to Benaras for the immersion of her ashes on the holy water of the Ganges. Alaka is shocked to hear this. Shantanu asks Alaka whether she feels angry with her fate and does she complain at all? To this, Alaka answers that she had stopped complaining that very day when her right to love someone was taken away form her. Shantanu then proceeds to tell that the wishes of Mother Ganges is also very strange, while she provides us with reasons for bidding adieu to someone (vidaai), she also makes us suffer the pangs of separation (judaai). 😭 He then tells Alaka that he had no intention of coming to Benaras to disturb her peace but now that they had met again, he will try his utmost not to come in front of her again, till he departs. The boats silently glide away from each other in opposite direction with Alaka and Shantanu staring at each other. 😕
In the Bharadwaj House, everybody is preparing for Sonu's wedding. Sonu's mother-in-law calls up Suli and asks her whether Alaka will be present on the auspicious shagun occasion and that it doesn't fit a widow to be present on such an occasion. Suli tells her that she will take care of that and that Alaka will not participate in this ceremony. Meera hears her and is very sad. She goes and sits beside Sonu and Aki. A number of girls are dancing to film songs. Suli tells them that in this occasion they should be dancing on folk songs rather than on film songs. None of them know any folk songs though except for Alaka but she wil not be present on the occasion. Suli and Ira asks Meera to sing. She is reluctant to start with but at that moment Alaka comes to the entrance of the hall and asks Meera to sing since everybody was requesting her. Meera agrees to her Mom's request and starts singing a folk song dealing with daughter's marriage. Half-way thru, Alaka leaves the spot and returns to her room. Meera finishes the song at the end of which everybody is in tears.😭
Meera leaves the ceremony spot and comes to her Mom's room to find her sitting on the ground reading some scripture. She goes and sits beside Alaka and asks her what song she was going to sing when Meera would get married nd leave the house? Alaka, on Meera's insistence, utters some beautiful lines about the mother-daughter relationship and how blessed she was to have such a great daughter. She also wished that a daughter would come to Meera's life so that she can also enjoy God's blessings in form of a daughter. Very touching scene friends. 😊
At that moment, Aki knocks on the door and asks Meera to accompany her to the Churi Bazar to buy shagun ki churis for Sonu. Alaka asks them to return soon. Meera and Aki are standing in front of a shap choosing bangles, when Meera decides to visit another shop. En route she bumps into Shantanu who is also happy to meet her. He tells her that he has come to that market to buy bangles for her daughter, who stays in England but he isn't sure about buying cos maybe she wont wear them. Meera decides to help him buy bangles for her daughter but asked him to take care so that the glass bangles wouldn't break. 😉
After buying, Meera proceeds to where she has left Aki behind, Shantanu pays for the bangles. At that moment, his cell phone rings and he is busy answering the phone. He leaves the bags with the bangles behind. The shop woner is thinking what to do when he notices Meera and Aki passing. He tells Meera that the gentleman had left his bag behind. Meera asks Aki to stay in that spot and goes after Shantanu. She calls Shantanu from the back who was just about to enter his car. Meera shows him the bag and is about to cross the road when she stumbles on a piece of rock. The bag falls on the ground and all its contents are scattered. Meera sits down to pick up the contents when Shantanu notices a speeding car heading towards Meera. Meera also notices the car but Shantanu lunges towards her.😕
Back at the house, everybody is busy and Suli is hoping that there would be no other complications in the household before Sonu's marriage at least. At that moment, Aki runs into the house and tells everybody that Meera has met with an accident. Everybody is shocked and Ammaji looks as if she had been hit by a bolt from the blue!
