Ram obeyed the words of his parents. He was father's doting son. When Dhasarath was hurt by the boons asked by Kaikeyi, he even asked Ram not to go for exile. Dhasarath was ready to break his promise, but Ram wanted to follow the dharm path in spite of him facing a hard life path. Even though Kaikeyi lost her respect with her own greedy desires, Ram gave respect for her. Ram was a great warrior and great ruler. He had a single wife Sita and lived true to her.
Now, let us consider Meghnaad. Great asura King Ravan's doting son. Meghnaad was blessed to have all the 3 celestial weapons from the trimuthi. He merely followed the words/orders of his father. He had only one wife Sulochana.
When we compare Meghnaad with Ram, why he was not addressed as maryada purushottam? Is it just because he was on the adharm side or much more to it?
Laxman was a great warrior and he followed his elder brother Ram without any questions. He left his wife Urmila for 14 yrs in Ayodhya and went to forest to serve his brother. On the other hand, Dussasana was a great fighter and he simply followed the words of his elder brother Duryodhan. He dragged Draupadi by hair and molested her as per the instructions given by his brother. Then again why Dussasana is not considered as an ideal brother like Laxman?
I know, it's a weird comparison.😉
But Ram and Laxman respected women whereas Meghnaad and Dussasana failed to respect women. Meghnaad should have told the good values to Ravan and the same holds for Dussasana. Hence not only in Kaliyug, even in any time period, if a man fails to give due respect to a women, he will be hated and shown as an example of evil mankind. Moreover, women should also behave in a way that she gets the deserved respect.
