Once dessert and dinner was had, Yash went into his normal take charge mode and took control as only he knew how to do. He made a few calls and arranged the wedding at lightning speed. She just sat on her favourite spot on the couch watching him with great pride and so much love, smiling in adoration. He really was good at getting things done and getting people to do his bidding. In no time the caterer, events planner, and priest were arranged. Then the family was told what time they had to be there. And lastly he arranged for a fashion house and a jeweller to come to the beach house first thing in the morning to bring a selection of wedding dresses and jewellery for her to choose from. Once again a day that started off in heart ache ended up in pure joy at the place that was her haven of peace and love but mostly because of her love. She felt at peace. She could face whatever had to come. She felt positive and happy.
After he had arranged everything, they took a long leisurely bath. She had always loved this tub and loved sharing it with him like they had done countless times before she left to have Aayu. They sat in the bath just holding each other and talking. She loved that they were talking again. There was nothing to hide anymore. Now she could share her happiness and her fears with the person she most needed to understand them. And he did the same. She could feel his fear and she understood but he had come to terms with what was going to happen and it was clear that he was going to stand by her in this, there most trying of times.
Yash was content with this moment. He had unwittingly found his way back to his love. His heart found her when they both needed each other so much. They were destined to be together, that was clear to him now. She was so determined, so sure that this time too things would end well. She trusted in their love completely to get her through this. Another time he might have demanded that she have the abortion but now, he understood her better. He understood that her love and desire for a child did not undermine their love. It was her way of performing the perfect act of love for him. She did this for him. She wanted their love to grow inside of her, because she loved him so much. He had no doubt about that now. He was not going to force her choose any more. Even if he wanted to, he knew that would have disastrous results.
Now she was in his arms again. He felt so much love for her. She was telling him things about the hospital that he had been in while pregnant with Aayu. Little quirks that the medical staff had. How much they cared for her and Aayu. She told him how she missed him, cried for him, wanted to call him but she fought against it so that their baby would have chance. He admired her strength and her tenacity. That was evident from the start. When she refused to marry him, when she fought him at every turn. Even when he thought he had the upper hand she turned the tables on him, like on their wedding night. He chuckled at the thought.
"Why are you laughing?"
"I was thinking our wedding night."
"When I gave you that sexy lingerie not thinking you would wear it and then you wore it and flaunted you delicious body in my face. Do you know how I struggled to sleep that night?"
"Good. You were such a meanie."
"Me? You were the meanie. If you were a good wife you would have done your husbands bidding."
"Is that so? And what would have been my husband's bidding?"
"It have been to take you in my arms and kiss you into a stupor. Till you were breathless and wanting more. I would have nibbled your ear and your neck, the way you love so much. Then I would have slipped that negligee off your shoulder so you would be standing naked in front of me. And I would have taken your nipples in my mouth and sucked it and enjoyed the way you groaned with pleasure."
"Yash" she groaned fully aroused now. He hands automatically going up and covering her breasts. He took her hands away and started rubbing them and gently squeezing her nipples.
"Then I would have put my hand inside your panties and felt your hot moistness. And I know by then you would have been soaking wet." his hand moved there as he spoke.
"Yes" she breathed
"And I would rubbed you there till your pleasure was complete. Do you want me to do that now Aarti?"
"Yes, yes, please" she moaned and he continued to give her what she wanted until she shuddered in his arms.
She was still panting and breathing heavily when she said.
"Only that" he said teasingly but she could feel his arousal against her.
She turned around and mounted him. Both of them groaning in pleasure.
"And then your dutiful wife turned around and did your bidding." she said as she started to move on top of him, giving him immense pleasure and bringing them to unadulterated ecstasy.
She was sleeping peacefully in his arms. He could hear the sounds of the ocean. The setting would have been perfect if only he didn't stand to lose her again and this time for good. The curtain at the patio door that lead to their room was open so the moon shone on her perfect face. There was always a stray strand of hair in her face. He moved it away. But he knew it would soon be back. She was still naked. He put his hand on her tummy. He closed his eyes as silent tears fell from them. His prayed that his petition to God was heard.
"Please keep my wife safe, please keep my baby safe, Lord. I need them. I need her. More than anything I need her and she needs this baby. I want her here with me. I want her healthy and happy. You gave her to me before I even knew what love was. You brought her in my life to challenge me and to mould me, to make a better person. You brought her in my life so I could experience unconditional love. She has no expectations of me other than love. No matter how much I have hurt her she still loves me, she has forgiven me for unforgivable deeds and she wants this baby for me as much as for herself. Please don't take her away from me, away from us. I beg you please." he continued to cry and pray silently till he fell asleep.
The next day they were up early. The wedding was at the beach house. That's what she wanted. It was crazy busy. The people were there to arrange the mandap. The people from the fashion house and jeweller were there with wide selections of jewellery and dresses. Vidhi and Pari were there to help her get ready.
Even so the wedding was a simple one. Only immediate family and very close friends were invited. She chose a simple but elegant red dress adorned with gold sequence and embellishments with a slight train and matching veil. Her handsome King was waiting for her anxiously in his gold sherwani with their little prince by his side. She walked towards them, her eyes moist with tears of joy. She had given up on this kind of happiness and thanked God for another chance. No matter how long it lasts, she would savour it.
He looked at her moving towards him. The love in her heart was reflecting in her eyes. She looked more beautiful than ever. The dress that she wore was perfect for her. For someone that didn't like to dress up she sure looked spectacular when she did. It was an Indian wedding dress, not a saree, with a figure hugging bodice and flowed down to the bottom with a train and a matching veil. He wanted to run to her and kiss her senselessly. He had to hold himself back. Throughout the proceedings Aayu was on his lap and he held her hand. The only sad thing was when they took the blessings from their parents, his mother was not there to give hers. They were not surprised but it didn't hurt any less.
The reception was gorgeous. It was outside on the beach. The weather was beautiful and the view was beautiful. They were in a Bedouin marquis and had a perfect view of the sunset. Everything was perfect, as if the whole world was rooting for them. It was a joyous celebration.
Yash tackled her medical care in much the same manner as he would a business deal. He met her doctor. Then there were further skype conference calls with her doctor, her parents, the specialist abroad and them. He investigated each option to make a decision that was best for them. Once again amazing her with his skill and powers of persuasion in an area where he had absolutely no expertise.
He had negotiated with one of the top specialist in the USA, that dealt with Aarti before to come to India and to start a similar facility as they had in the USA and to train doctors here in that field. He had persuaded the local hospital to have a wing dedicated to these types of conditions. He spent copious amounts of money doing this himself but he also arranged a fund raising event to raise money for the hospital to build an extension for the wing in question.
They did not move into the beach house. They had decided that they wanted that to remain their haven, their love nest, where they can go when they want to be alone. Instead they moved to the big house again. Her parents moved in with them as well. Before Aarti was confined to bed rest, she made sure there were a few changes the house to make it more of a home. One of the rooms were converted to play room for the kids, with a ball pond and soft toys and a play pen for the little ones and a gaming section for the older ones. And outside they had another play area, with a jungle gym, a cycle track and even a skateboarding ramp which was Vendant's new favourite thing to do. There was also a play room for the adults with a pool table and various board games for the weekends. They would also be converting two rooms into one to make a home cinema once Aarti had to be admitted to hospital.
Too soon she was confined to her bed. It had been agreed that she would stay at home as long as possible with constant medical care. Both her parents cut down on their working hours to be at home with her and Aayu. She did the same as she did before. She developed business programmes, she drew, read and watched TV. Her family was all around her all the time. Pari and Vidhi stopped by as much as their tyrannical mother in law allowed. Vedhika came and read her stories. Aayu couldn't really understand that his mamma was always in bed but when he was tired, he would come lie next to her. And at night she slept in her husband's arms contentedly.
He had handed his resignation to the board of Scindiya Entreprises but the board rejected his resignation and rather suggested that he take an indefinite sabbatical and still work on a consultancy basis. He would still be attending board meetings and be involved in big decisions. He was glad that he didn't end up resigning his job. That ended up being his salvation. He was more involved with work than he thought he would be. But he did it from home, but it kept his mind occupied and his fear at bay for the most part.
At 4 months she was getting weaker and had to be hospitalised. She had to be fed intravenously as she couldn't ingest anything any other way. She was pale and was growing thinner by the day. She missed Aayu terribly as he was not allowed in that ward. But she skyped him every day. Yash's workstation changed from home to the hospital. But they both hated when he had to leave at night. But he had to be there for Aayu. Not that he slept much. When he wasn't with her, he worried even more. So sometimes he had a nap next to her in the hospital bed.
And they talked. They talked about their day, about Aayu, about their future about their past and even about his mother. They were both baffled about her stubborn refusal to accept Aarti. But Yash was less accepting of this than Aarti. He hardly went home as he did not want to see his mother and he hated her attitude towards Aayu. But his mother's attitude was the least of his problems. He couldn't wait till the 6 months were up so he could relax and enjoy his family, He refused to entertain any other thought.
Finally Aarti was in her 6 month of pregnancy. It seemed like it was forever till they got there. The last month was extremely difficult on them. She had gotten very weak and even the doctors were very worried. Buts still she hung in there. Her determination to survive and to give birth to their love even in her weakened state. He spent more and more time at the hospital, having to be convinced by the family and her to go home and that Aayu needs him too. They were planning to deliver the baby as soon as she reached 6 months as the baby would be formed enough to survive, just as Aayu had done. And when the time came for her to be wheeled into the operating room he was strong and encouraging to her. He took her one hand in both of hers and said:
"Honey, I am so proud of you. You fought so hard and now finally we are going to have our little baby"
She just smiled weakly.
"Stay strong baby. Your determination can't stop now. Remember we are all waiting for you to come out of this. It's been so long since Aayu saw his mommy. He really misses you. And I need you back home soon baby. The nursery is finally complete. Bhabhi and Pari did an awesome job. And I won't let you see it until you bring our little princess home. I love you so much baby, don't ever forget that. My heart goes with you, and I need it back to survive. Ok?"
"Ok" she whispered back. He kissed her softly and watched her being wheeled away.
The moment the doors closed behind her, he sunk down on the bench in the passage outside of the theatre. His body shaking with fear and tension. His mother in law came to him and held his hand.
"Beta, look at me." She put his hand in his cheek.
"You have to stay strong too. We have to keep our faith. We have to continue praying and believing in our Creator. You have to keep believing in your love. That's what gave her the strength to do this. You can't give into your fear now. You can't give up now. You have to keep hoping and trusting in that love and in God, just like she has done."
"Ma, I won't make it if she doesn't survive"
"She will survive. I won't believe anything else. They both will. I need you to believe with me. Please" she begged.
"Yes, Ma" And they sat together for the longest time waiting ...
