Mom was watching a Tamil soap (which I hate).

The heroine comes to know about a truth about the vamp and tells it to the hero while she is upset. The hero immediately tries to go to the vamp. The hero's brother and father try to stop him. The hero tells that you don't know what happened. The heroine tells that they also know and the hero is like "Everyone knows except me"

I can't help but think Abhi. So it's usual for heroes in soaps to not know anything happening around him.
