CHAPTER -19
Nandini's leg was slowly recovering. But still she was limping.
Manik and Shanti took extra care of Nandini and made sure that she doesn't stress her leg too much.
Manik used to bring food for Nandini in her room itself.
Two days passed by in the same manner.
It was now time to go to Amritsar.
Nyonika packed Manik's bag despite protests from him that he will do it himself.
Manik - Mom mai khud pack karlunga. Mai bachcha those hi na hu. Please ap Rehne dijiye.
Nyonika - Shh... Chup chap se waha baitho aur mujhe apna kaam karne do. Tum kitne bhi bade kyun na hojao. Mere liye hamesha Bachche hi rahoge.
Manik made a pout and sat down helplessly and let Nyonika do all the packing.
Meanwhile Shanti and Nandini too packed there bags.
Shanti to Nandini - Chalo finally mai Amritsar jaa rahi hu. Bahut si yaadein Judi hai meri us jagah se.
Nandini - Aap fir se wo yaadein taaza karpayegi .
Shanti lost in thoughts- Hmmm...
A servant came and said- Aap logon ko Nyonika Madam bula rahi hai neeche.
They went down and saw Manik with Nyonika.
Nyonika to Manik - Beta apna khayal rakhna aur khana time se khana.
Shanti - Ap fikar mat karo mai hu na uska khayal rakhne ko.
Nyonika - Hmm... Aur Haan Beta wo Lata se zara sambhal kar rehna. Bahut bak bsk karti hai wo. Chipku hai par dil ki achchi hai.
Manik bent down and touched Nyonika's feet and Nyonika blessed him.
Then Nandini came forward to touch Nyonika's feet but Nyonika said- Chalo jaldi karo flight ka time horaha hai.
Saying this Nyonika moved away from there.
Nandini felt bad with this act of Nyonika.
Manik didn't observe this as he was busy on his phone.
But Shanti saw this and assured with her eyes to Nandini that everything will be Ok.
Nandini smiled lightly and all three of them left to the airport in the car.
They reached the airport and Manik took all the luggage and went inside. Nandini and Shanti followed him.
They completed the formalities and boarded the flight.
It was the first time that Nandini was traveling by plane.
As soon as the plane took off she immediately held Maniks hand tightly.
Manik looked at her and saw that she had her eyes closed tightly and fear clearly visible on her face and a smile crept on his face.
Manik let her hold his hand eventhough she was digging her nails in his skin.
After sometime Nandini realised that she had held Manik's hand and left it immediately.
Nandini - Sorry. Wo hum... Hume...
Manik - It's Ok Nandini i can understand. You don't have to be sorry. It happens.
Nandini nodded her head .
After almost two and a half hours, they reached Amritsar.
Lata, the caretaker of the orphanage had come to receive them .
Lata- Welcome sirji welcome. Badi Khushi Hui Ji ap se milke.
Manik - Aap...
Lata- Oji mai Lata apke orphanage ki caretaker hu. Nice to meet you Ji thank you very well...
Manik - Apse milke bhi Khushi Hui Hume.
Manik whispered in Nandini's ears- Saari ki Saari English ek hi sentence me khatam kardi isne. Aur koi bhi word ko spare nahi kiya .
Nandini giggled on hearing this.
Shanti to Lata- To Lata chale orphanage.
Lata- Haanji bilkul.
Lata called her assistant and asked him to keep the luggage in the car.
Nandini sat with Shanti and Lata in the backseat and Manik sat in the passenger seat of the car and the assistant drove the car to the orphanage.
Shanti and Lata were catching up on their old times as they knew each other since childhood.
Nandini was quietly staring out of the car window.
Manik adjusted the mirror of the car and saw Nandini lost in her own world.
Manik to Shanti - Bua aap to bata rahi thi ki apki yeh friend ka sense of humour bahut Acha hai. Par abtak to mujhe aisa kuch nahi laga.
Lata- Aisi baat hai to ye lo Ji abhi sunati hu ek joke.
Manik - Haan sunaiye.
Lata- Ek baar na ek hathi ko chinti se pyaar hojata hai. Par chinti ke ghar wale ye rishte ke liye mana kardete hai. Pucho kyu?
Manik - Kyu?
Lata- Oji wo isliye ki wo log kehte hai ki ladke ke daant bahar nikle hue hai to hum ye rishta Tod rahe hai.
Manik rolled his eyes hearing such a lame joke.
But Nandini started to laugh heartily hearing the joke.
Lata- Dekha hamare jokes to Puri Amritsar me world famous hai.
Manik to himself - Whatever...
But he was satisfied that atleast Nandini laughed hearing the joke.
After half an hour they reached the orphanage.
Lata to her assistant - Ramu sab logon ka saman guest rooms me rakha do.
Shanti along with Lata went in.
Nandini got down the car and was about to fall due to sudden pain in her leg .
Before she could fall, Manik came and held her.
Manik - R u alright. Zyada dard horaha hai kya.
Nandini - Nai zyada dard nai hai bas wo...
Manik left her.
Nandini took a few steps and was about to fall again when Manik held her on time.
Manik - Mujhe malum nahi tha ki tum jhoot bhi bol leti ho. I will help you.
Saying this he held her right hand in his right hand and put his left hand on her left arm and helped her to walk slowly.
Nandini had too much pain in her leg that she was not able to walk even with Manik's help. But still she didn't say anything.
Manik observed the pain on her face.
Manik had no choice left so he picked her up in his arms and took her to the guestroom.
Nandini was shocked with this sudden act of Manik.
Nandini - Manik kya kar rahe ho . Please neeche utaro Hume.
Manik - Utar dunga but first let me take you to the guestroom.
Nandini - Manik please utaro mujhe.
Manik didn't pay any attention to her pleading.
He reached the guestroom and put Nandini on the bed.
In the meantime Shanti also came and asked in a concerned voice- Kya hua Nandini tum theek to ho na.
Nandini didn't say anything. She was still in a shock .
Manik - Bua Lagta hai iske leg me for se pain start hogaya.
Shanti - Nandini tumne balm nahi lagaya na kal bhi.
Nandini looked down guiltily.
Shanti- Kitni careless ho tum Nandini. Apna khayal to bilkul bhi nahi rakhti.
Acha ab rest karo mai balm lekar aati hu.Usse massage karlena to pain chala jayega.
Nandini just nodded her head.
Shanti - Manik chal Jake fresh hoja tu bhi.
Manik - Ok Bua.
With this all of them left the room and went to their respective rooms.
Nandini lied down on the bed and recollected how Manik brought her to the room in his arms.
Thinking of all this she fell asleep.
Phewww... Done with another update.
