CHAPTER -17
Manik checked his phone and found 15 missed calls from Nisha and a message to come home early.
Manik dialled her number but there was no response.
He then dialled Nyonika's number and she picked it up on 2nd ring.
Manik - Hello Maa.
Nyonika - Manik tum jaldi ghar aajao.
Manik - Maa sab theek hai na. I mean Nisha ne call kiya tha mujhe...
Nyonika - Tum ghar pe aao phir baat karte hai.
Saying this she cut the call
Manik was confused as to what had happened. He immediately rushed to his home.
He entered his house and found Nyonika sitting on the couch in the hall.
He went to Nyonika and asked - Kya hua Maa sab theek hai na.
Before Nyonika could say anything, a doctor came out of Nisha's room along with Swara and said- Congratulations Nyonika ji aap Dadi banne wali ho.
Nyonika was very happy hearing this.
But Manik had a shock of his life on hearing this.
He thought to himself - How is this possible? I need to talk to Nisha about it.
Swara and Nyonika's happiness knew no bounds.
They both hugged each other.
They would soon become grandmothers.
Swara- Mai Kuch meetha Kane ke liye lekar aati hu.
Nyonika kissed Manik's forehead and said - Manik Beta I am so happy. Tu Papa banne wala hai. Jaa Jake Nisha se mil le.
Manik - Ok Maa.
Saying this he went to his room and saw Nisha taking rest.
As soon as she heard the sound of the door she got up and saw Manik with lot of questions in his eyes.
Nisha - Manik mai Janti hu tumhare Mann me kai sawal uth rahe hai is Bachche ko lekar. But before you accuse me ek baar meri baat sun lo.
Manik - Ok fine bolo. I am listening.
Nisha- I love someone.
Manik was shocked to hear her confession.
Manik - Who is he?
Nisha - My colleague Sahil. We want to get married. But before that I have to set my modelling career right.
Manik - Kya tumhari Mom ko pata hai ye.
Nisha - No.
Manik - Mai baat karu.
Nisha - No abhi nahi. Mai tumse yahi baat karna chahti thi. Par tumne phone nahi uthaya.
Manik - Kya baat karni hai tumhe.
Nisha - Actually Sahil doesn't want this child right now. He wants me to abort it. But isse Pehle mai Kuch karti Mom ko is Bachche ke baare me pata chalgaya. Wo log to yahi soch rahe hai ki yeh tumhara bachcha hai. Kitne Khush hai wo log.
Manik - Kya tum bhi ye bachcha nahi chahti.
Nisha thought for a while and said- Sahil nahi maanega.
Manik - Nisha how can you do this.
He held her hand and took her to their bedroom window which opened in the hall.
Manik said-
Just look at their faces. Kitne Khush hai wo log is Bachche ko leke. Agar tumhari Mom ko pata chalgaya is sab ke baare me to Janti ho na kya hoga.
In fact we are in this unwanted relationship of husband and wife just because of your mom. Yaad hai na us din kya hua tha jab tumne shadi se mana kardiya tha.
Nisha - Haan Haan sab yaad hai. Har baar mujhe guilty feel karane ki zarurat nahi hai.
Manik - Nisha mai Tumhe guilty feel nahi Kara raha hu. Tumhe bas samjha raha hu.
Nisha - Ok fine. Ab tum hi batao mai kya karu. Us din bhi tumne sahi time pe aake meri help ki thi. I need your help today also.
Manik - Kya Sahil tumse abhi shaadi karega.
Nisha - Uske liye we need to get divorced. Aur Maine lawyer se baat ki hai. He said that we have to live under the same roof for atleast 1 year from the date of marriage after filing divorce by mutual consent. Abhi 3 months baaki hai 1 year complete hone ko.
Manik - Nisha tum Pagal hogayi ho. Kuch samajh me bhi aaraha hai tumhe ke tum kya kar rahi ho.
Nisha - Manik tum bas yeh batao ke tum kal mere sath aarahe ho hospital ya nahi.
Manik - Hospital kyu.
Nisha - Abortion ke liye.
Manik - How can you do this to your own child. It's wrong . Think about it once.
Their conversation was disturbed by a knock on the door.
Manik went and opened it.
Nyonika and Swara came inside.
Nyonika - Saari celebration akele hi karoge kya tum log. Dadi aur Nani ko bhi to mauka do apne grandchild ki khatirdari karne ke liye.
Nyonika and Swara discussed all the things they would be needing for the baby and explained Nisha all the precautions to be taken at such time.
Then they went away.
Manik - Dekha tumne. I can't be part of all this madness. You are not going to abort this child and that is my final decision. Aur rahi baat divorce ki to wo mai tumhe de dunga. But still I am telling you whatever you are doing is all wrong.
Nisha didn't say anything and went to sleep.
