CHAPTER -22
Next morning Nandini got up and smiled seeing Aarav Khushi in deep sleep.
They both were sleeping with their legs on Nandini.
Khushi was holding Nandini tightly by her waist with her tiny hands.
Nandini freed herself carefully not to disturb the kids sleep and went to freshen up.
She came out wearing a simple salwar kameez.
Then she went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for everyone.
Nyonika was already present in the kitchen.
Nandini - Good morning Aunty.
Nyonika - Good Morning Nandini.
Nandini - Aunty mai apki help kardu.
Nyonika - Nai Beta it's OK. Food is almost ready. Waise Bachche uthgaye kya?
Nandini - No Aunty. Wo log abhi tak sorahe hai.
Nyonika - Ok theek hai.
Nandini - Aunty Jiju kaha hai. Nazar nahi aarahe hai.
Nyonika - Wo shayad room me hoga.
Nandini - Ok. Aunty if you don't mind kya mai Jiju ke liye chai bana du.
Nyonika - Ok Beta banado.
Nandini prepared tea quickly and went to Manik's room.
She knocked the door .
Manik - Ya come in.
Manik was engrossed in his laptop doing some important work. He didn't notice Nandini.
Nandini came inside and said- Good morning jiju.
Manik on hearing her voice immediately looked up.
He hadn't expected to see Nandini so soon after whatever happened last night.
He thought to himself - God. Not again. Why are you playing games with me. I have to stay away from her. And the best way is to be rude to her.
In this way she herself will stay away from me. I am sorry Nandini I have to do this. This is the only way.
Nandini was expecting his reply to her good morning.
She kept the tea on the side table and said chirpily - Jiju sab kaam baad me karlena . Pehle chai pilijiye.
Saying this she snatched the laptop from his hands.
Manik closed his eyes and took a deep breath and said-
What the hell?
Kya kar rahi ho tum?
Wapas karo mera laptop.
Tum me manners hai ya nahi.
Nandini - Par Jiju mai to chai...
Manik cut her in between and said-
Just shut up.
Give my laptop back.
And lejao ye chai.
Nahi peeni mujhe.
Nandini was shocked with the sudden outburst of Manik.
She got scared as well.
She had never seen this side of Manik.
Nandini always thought Manik to be a sweet and caring person. He never raised his voice on anyone.
But now she was seeing a completely different Manik in front of her.
Nandini had tears in her eyes.
She controlled her tears and rushed out of Manik's room.
Manik's heart broke into pieces seeing Nandini cry that too because of him.
He didn't intent to make her cry. But still she was crying because of him.
Manik fisted his hair tightly and said- I am really sorry Nandini. I have to do this .
Nandini went running to the garden and started crying.
Nyonika saw this and asked - Kya hua Nandini tum ro kyu rahi ho. Manik me kuch kaha kya?
Nandini wiped her tears immediately on seeing Nyonika.
Nandini - Nai aisa kuch nai hai. Wo to bas...
Nyonika - Mai Janti hu . Manik me hi kuch kaha hoga. But Beta uski baatein dil pe mat Lena. He is not a bad person . It's just that he is stressed a bit .
Nandini - Ji Aunty hum samajte hai.
Nyonika - Ok ab ye sab chodo aur jaake bachcho ko utha do.
Meanwhile in kids room-
Aarav-Khushi woke up and didn't find Nandini there.
They came outside rubbing there eyes and started shouting - Mummaaa...
On not finding Nandini anywhere they started crying.
Manik came to them running on hearing there shouts.
Manik - Kya hua bachcho aap log ro kyu rahe hai.
Aarav-Khushi - Dadooo.. Mummaaa...
They said this between their sobs.
Manik - Shhh... First of all stop crying. You both are my good babies...
Hearing this they stopped crying.
Manik wiped there tears and kissed their cheeks one by one.They kissed him back.
Aarav-Khushi- Dadooo...
Manik - Haan...
Aarav-Khushi - Where ishhh Mummaaa ...
Manik looked around and didn't find Nandini.
He felt guilty for scolding her.
She had come to his house for the sake of his kids and he was being an idiot for being rude to her.
Manik thought to apologize to her.
But then he realized that Nandini was nowhere to be seen.
He thought to himself - Did she leave ?
Nyonika came inside with Nandini.
Nyonika - Ye dekho Bachche to kab ka uthgaye.
Nyonika - Good morning Bachcho.
Aarav-Khushi - Good Morning Dadi.
Then they saw Nandini and ran to her .
Aarav-Khushi - Mummaaa... Good Morning.
Nandini - Good Morning
And she hugged them.
Manik saw all this and went inside.
Manik thought to himself - No Manik you cannot fall weak now. You have taken the first step. Now you can't back out.
His thoughts were broken by a tap on his shoulder.
He turned around to see Cabir .
Manik - Cabir tu kab aaya.
Cabir- Bas abhi abhi.
Manik - Ok chal niche. Breakfast karlete hai. Office ke liye bhi to nikalna hai.
Saying this he was about to leave the room when cabir held his hand and said-
Cabir - Haan wo toh theek hai but our chat is pending remember.
Manik - I don't want to talk about it yaar. Shut the topic there itself.
Cabir observed that Manik was in no mood to talk so he said- Acha chal theek hai. Shut kardiya.
With this both of them went down to have breakfast.
Done with another update.
