I have often observed that in shows its like whenever they show a Bengali that person has to speak 'a' sound as 'o' or 'ao' wanted to know is it really true or its just maker's perception?

Eg: surili says Rajni as Rajani or sometimes Rajouni.

surilis pronunciations are right 😃
for examples : its not aamitabh here its omitabh here
also not akshay here its akkhay 😆
pallavi doing great job as bengali ❤️
but in an episode she said robindranath tagore wheres bengalis pronounce it as robindranath thakur 😆

Romanizing Bengali into English is kind of tricky, since Bengalis pronounce the letter "a" in two ways...One is "aah" like in aatma. The other is more like a mix between the "aw" and "oh" sounds, such as in the way Surili says "Amrish" as if it's spelled "Omrish", and "Rajni" as if it's spelled "Rojoni" - Pallaviji has nailed this vowel pronunciation. Kudos to her!

Special shoutout to whoever on the BHR team noted that Bengalis would in fact say "Rajani." That's exactly right. Now if only they could fix the verb conjugations...then my most minor of quibbles would be gone!

Thankfully the Bengali in this show is much, MUCH better than in some of the other stuff I've seen on air recently! Very commendable!

Yes Surili's bengali accent is perfect !! Also to mention Gyaan's accent, and sometimes Amrish & Shaan when they speak in bengali they say it perfectly too!!!

Kudos to whoever is looking into the details of showing bengali accent so fluently!!!

Yes Bengalis who are not very fluent with hindi use this kind of accent while speaking in hindi. I'm seeing my nana . He does the same thing. Surili's accent is realistic which is the best thing
