He is absolutely right but our Govt is responsible for this and not Salman.
If you just want to send a sport star send Sachin even though Cricket is not there but it will create enough buzz and will be far better choice.

Thank god yogi dutt is not a Muslim or else he would have been asked to go to Pakistan by now

Its really shameful that a movie star with such a controversial background was selected to be the Goodwill Ambassador of India at the Olympic games...and that too as a promotion for the star's movie! 
Is there any dearth of sports stars in the country? 
Really shameful! Dirty Politics at work in sports as usual.

And before anyone start converting this thread into war zone, SRK would have been equally worst choice or for that matter any film star
There are many from sports fraternity who desevers this like Milkha, Usha, Prakash padukone, Leander or even the shooter Rathod who is BJP MP would have been better choice
And if the purpose is to get media and people attention then who else but Sachin
