The first episode introduces Dollie Suri, an embarrassingly gawky teenager, the queen of clumsiness, and Roma, single mom, who is a writer for daily soaps. They are the tenants of Jai and Santanam Naidu, US-returned, whose nuclear family consists of their son Kutty and dog Snookeshwari.
The episode also introduces Dollie's best friend, Lopamudra Sen, an activist, Dollie's crush, Nikshay Rana, his girlfriend, the school bombshell, Trishala, and Lopa's cousin Siddhartha Rege, who is in love with Dollie. Mayur, the universal brother, who is in love with Lopa, Pompy, the school bully, and Sudhanshu, the class topper, make their appearances in the episode as well. Dollie is nervous about reading the news at assembly, and is somehow trapped into participating in the inter-school talkathon by Mother Anne.
Dollie resolves to change herself and begins with joining aerobics class. On her way back, she bumps into Sid. Sid gives her tips on how to go about the talkathon business. In the process, Dollie gets late for school, again. That day, in the Biology class, Shamuli Sen, the Biology teacher, who is also Lopa's mother, deals with errant students like Pompy and his gang, and Dollie's pimple.
Shamuli is sexy and does not mind the attention she draws from the male population of the class. After the class, Lopa and Dollie plead to people to join in their rally the following day. A brief argument between Trishala and Lopa follow. Dollie and Lopa go to Sid's concert that evening and discover that he is quite a hit with the girls there. Back at Lopa's place the three talk about Sid and Dollie's dating preferences. Dollie goes home and gets into an argument with her mother, and mentions the unmentionable, her father.
Dollie and Roma make up over dosa. On her way to school, Dollie fantasises about the various professions she would want to be in - from a singer to a beauty queen to a war journalist. Lopa is forced to listen to Dollie's latest difficult words, during PT class. Pompy behaves obnoxiously in class because there is no electricity.
Lopa fights with Pompy because he is cruel to a stray dog. Dollie prevents her from getting into a fight, and Lopa gets upset with her. Dollie comes home to find her mother boasting about her daughter's extra-curricular activity to Santanam. Dollie is apprehensive about the expectations that people have from her.
Dollie feigns illness to avoid going for the talkathon, but Sid catches on. Mayur insists on sitting next to Lopa in the bus. Nikshay is evidently the leader of the team, as he sings African songs and school anthem to boost the morale of the students in the bus, on the way to Albert Hall. Sid reassures a nervous Dollie, who concentrates on her clammy hands. At the talkathon, Lopa and Sudhanshu excel, and Dollie makes a fool of herself because Pompy messes with the wires. Dollie comes home and resolves to become fearless and self confident, by doing something more challenging - like dancing.
Dollie meets the inventor of Holly Bolly dancing, Jamie Fernando, when she goes for dancing classes. She comes home to find her distant relatives, whom she has never met, at home - Bullu Bua, her daughter Harmeet and her son Pilloo. Dollie tells Sid and Lopa about her relatives, and apologises to Sid for behaving badly at the talkathon.
This episode introduces Bharat Sir, the history teacher, who talks to the class about insecurities. Dollie practices her dance with Lopa, with Sid as an involuntary participant, and manages to convince her to join dancing classes with her. Dollie comes home to find her relatives creating havoc in her room, and Harmeet going through her diary. She throws a fit, and only after Roma cajoles her does she agree to tolerate her relatives, provided they stay out of her room. Roma makes up for the argument by giving making Dollie her favourite jelly, and by imitating Bullu Bua.
Bullu Bua and Pilloo watch cricket; Bua decides that Harmeet will also join dancing classes with Dollie and Lopa. Dollie runs away in the morning to seek refuge from her relatives in Lopa's house. Sid reprimands her for touching his guitar. While Lopa is obsessed with her 'Save the Street Dog' rally the next day, Dollie is obsessed with her relatives. At school, Nikshay invites everyone to his birthday party, much to Trishala's chagrin.
Dollie and Lopa go to dance class and bump into Harmeet, Pilloo, and Nikshay! Nikshay flirts with Harmeet. Dollie walks into house, furious, only to find her mother talking to someone (Bharat Sir) over phone. She fights with Roma about Bullu Bua and team staying there in their house. Alone in her room, Dollie promises to herself to win this battle with Harmeets and Trishalas in her world.
Dollie wakes up on a fine a Sunday morning and realises that she is missing school. Lopa calls up and Dollie remembers that she has to rush to help Lopa with the rally. They meet Sid before they leave and Sid tells Dollie to wear pink for Nikshay's party. They meet Shoaib - Lopa falls for him and he falls for Dollie.
Mayur also joins them at the rally. Tuhin makes the crowds go wild with his 'Save the Street Dog' speech. They march to the Municipal building, crossing Pompy on the way. Lopa resents the constant attention that Shoaib gives Dollie, and only when she has a little outburst does Dollie realise her feelings, and is happy for her. They watch Tuhin being arrested by the police, and decide to go home in a cab, each with their own personal thoughts, even while making polite conversation.
The episode begins with a montage of Dollie's nightmare after the disaster at Nikshay's party. Krishna Jones, an exchange student from Woodstock, is introduced. Dollie is trapped into giving him a tour of the school, and the city. Lopa is irritable. Physics teacher Mr. Khushwaha catches Dollie and Lopa exchanging notes in class. Lopa confesses that she is in love with Shoaib, and that they have connected.
Mayur overhears this and is heartbroken. Dollie and Lopa both take Krishna Jones around, as he shoots everyone with his handycam. Lopa tells Dollie to get over Nikshay. Dollie hallucinates about a swayamvar, and realises that Krishna Jones is the love of her life.
Dollie discovers Krishna Jones exercising to chants on the road. He gives her some basic insight into self-discovery and other spiritual stuff, and also teaches her a new word - chillax. Dollie tries out takayana movements.
Dollie is now into spiritualism and rudraksha malas, much to the amazement of her mother. Dollie announces that she is inviting Krishna Jones for dinner. Lopa and Dollie plan to go on a double date. Dollie asks Sid for Vedic Chants. Shoaib and Lopa meet Shamuli after a movie. Shoaib is quite taken in by Shamuli, much to Lopa's embarrassment. Dollie meets Ma Vaz at the Tree of Life. Krishna comes over to the Suris for dinner and Dollie manages to pull out a strand of hair from his head. She dreams that Krishna and she are Radha and Krishna.
