It's good that we are protesting after all it's a matter of heritage but why are we only focusing on Kohinoor...
There are many other precious item's of our's lying with the British, why not get them??? and tbh,I have a feeling that it will get lost if it is brought to India

Why Pakistan? Afghanistan can claim it as Mughals were 4m there only.

Because as far as I know the area which Maharaja Ranjit Singh ruled also covers present day Pakistan...
i'm not very sure about the reason but they have also made a serious claim to it.There was a report about it in Telegraph

They are just trying to be cute as always. There was no dominion of Pakistan before 1947 so to even claim this diamond as something belonging to Pakistan is just droll. What next? Bangladesh is gonna jump into the fray too? It was all one big Indian subcontinent back then, back when this diamond was doing its "rounds".

Most of these diamonds (Kohinoor diamond, Hope diamond, Nizam diamond etc.,) came from Kolluru mines in Andhra Pradesh. That's what my history book says. Now, I am pretty sure, Pakistan has it's own history book; just like it has its own geography books showing parts of India as Pakistan.

British not only took away the Kohinoor diamond but had looted a lot of money from India based on their rule. Will we be able to claim all that money? All I would say is that was a period when we let them loot us and also take away the precious items in our country. And all that because we were in medieval age and Europeans in modern age and it was a period in which if people could not behave as modern age persons they will be looted. We could not change the past but have to accept the past. But now we can do the needful. In this case, we have to accept our worth and capability and based on that build our strength. When India is in a position of strength only, others will accept our demands. Much to the envy of other boards, BCCI is able to dictate terms in ICC and other cricket boards. Why not same thing happen in other areas?

History:

1) The Kohinoor was mined from the Golconda region of Andhra Pradesh during the Kakatiya dynasty's reign.

2) Originally weighing 793 carats, its weight was subsequently reduced over the centuries after it was cut several times. It now weighs around 105 carats.

3) After the subjugation of Punjab in the Second Sikh War in 1849, Duleep Singh, the last Sikh ruler of Punjab, was ordered by the then governor general of India, Lord Dalhousie, to personally hand over the Kohinoor to the British Queen.

4) In 1852, Queen Victoria decided to reshape the diamond and it was cut down to 108.93 carats.

5) After Queen Victoria's death, the Kohinoor was set in the crown of Queen Alexandra, the wife of Edward VII, that was used at their coronation in 1902. The diamond was transferred to Queen Mary's crown in 1911, and finally to Queen Elizabeth's crown in 1937. When the Queen Mother died in 2002, it was placed on top of her coffin for the lying-in-state and funeral.

6) The diamond is apparently cursed. A Hindu text dating back  to 1306, when the Kohinoor's appearance was first recorded, apparently stated that only a woman could wear the stone, and "misfortunes" would befall any male owner.

7) It's not just India which is demanding the return of the Kohinoor. Pakistan, where the diamond is said to have been surrendered last, too has asked for the possession of the precious stone

I dont think india is gonna get it back from UK. India is still rated as a third world country if/when it becomes a superpower like UK, Russia or USA then maybe something could be done but I highly doubt due to the significance that rock has had in the royal family. It would be like an insult to the brits if they gave it back, would make them look really weak to the world.
