And for your info, Adhwi,   my g'children  are now 26 and 22, and my g'son got married last May. I will try and find out their photos taken when they were kidsBig smile

You see, in a way...Baby Sarasa and Babloo, are your brain  (grand)children...so I'm not completely wrong, isn't it? WinkWink

Akka, my dearest Akka,

I am at a loss  for words to praise this coup de maitre (masterstroke) of  yours adequately. So the emoticons will  have to do ClapClapClapClapClap!!!!!

You know, I said to Lashy the other day that the pictures of Jalal used in her latest novel were not my idea of Akbar Mahmoud Khan, nor were the Jodha pictures my idea of Heera. But this Baby Sarasa is exactly as I have seen her in my mind's eye.A round, serious little face, a broad brow hinting at intelligence, behind which one can practically see the umpteen questions she always had bubbling away merrily,  the pink cheeks that signify good health, and a pretty mouth made for both smiles, used when coaxing adults to do what she wants of them, and for curling in impatience as she tries to discipline Babloo .

And yes, she has lovely eyes. She will surely be all the rage in another  12 years!

Hmmm.. Babloo. He too is exactly as I visualised him. A little snub nose hinting at lingering babyhood, curls that dance as he insists on one thing or the other, the wide, cheerful  smile that hints at lurking dimples, and the naughty, oh so bright eyes dancing with suppressed mischief.

He is perfect, exactly  mera chhota Babloo.  In fact my Sasha  was  a lot  like him at that age, so I love him all  the more!

Thanks, Akka, for giving this kids to me, and to all the others,  whole and that much more delightful.

More tonight, IST, that is.

Affectionately,

Shyamala

It feels like it's been ages since you last logged in, Shyamala periyamma... Hug

and I agree Baby and Babloo look like the most adorable pair of siblings around (as though Saraswathi periyamma hadn't sketched them adorable-enough already!) Embarrassed

My  dearest Baby and Babloo,

Here I am back again, after almost a week,  but I have finally learnt how to paste those 2 photos of my Sasha, when he was 5 years old, dressed up as a clown: one with his little friend Misha, and the other doing a handstand. I did not want to come here till I could do it, for I felt foolish not being able to do something that everyone else here- your Bindu'kka and Shagun Akka and Lashy Aunty can all do so easily. I felt like the class dunce, who is never able to learn things properly, even when his teachers are patient and explain things to him slowly and carefully.
You got it though!Clap

The reason why I had so much trouble learning exactly how to add the photos here is that I am technologically challenged. Now don't bother poor Grandma about that! It simply means that  I was  not clever enough to understand the trick of doing it, and try as I might, the obstinate thing would not work.

Oh, and obstinate means someone which will not listen to  reason and will not move one inch from what they insist on. In short, pig-headed. And no, Babloo, that does not mean having the head of a pig!

SASHA THE CLOWN WITH HIS FRIEND MISHA

But I am a never say die sort of person, which means I do not give up when something does not work, but keeping trying again and again.  Like Robert Bruce, the King of Scotland long, long ago.
You must get your grandma to tell you the story of  how he succeeded after failing 13 times! And all because he watched a spider, which could not spin its web though it tried 13 times. Each time the thread kept breaking. But it would  not give up, and on the 14th try, it succeeded. So did Robert Bruce, and he defeated his enemies and won his kingdom back.
Such an interesting story!

Well, to make a long story short, I have now, after experimenting in various ways,  finally hit on the correct way of doing it, and here they are! Yes, and experimenting means trying out different ways  of doing something till you find the one that works.

I hope you like them. Sasha won the first prize in a fancy dress competition for this. He had, as you can see,  a large red nose made of plasticine, and he was clever enough to be able to do a somersault - like the clown in the circus (I hope, Babloo my pet, that you have learnt by now that somersault' has nothing to do with salt!Wink
>>>LOL
) without letting that nose touch the ground and get squashed!

The fancy dress looks lovely... the neatest part of it is the face paintingBig smile... in this day and age (especially in the West, baby-safe paints are easily available) but then, getting these face-colours would have been quite a challenge...and the lines have been drawn so perfectly...

More separately. Lots of love to you both from,

Shyamala Aunty

SASHA THE CLOWN DOING A HANDSTAND!

Take a look at the results of my little  campaign to defeat the malicious gods populating the net, and the IF in particular. And thanks ever so much to both of you for being so good and patient with me! I shall now go back to imgur and try and tame that as well.

You've made your attempts at trying to post pictures read like an interesting novella Embarrassed

My dear Shyamala,
Who else but you can give such a beautiful description of the pictures of the kids?
Thank you..Hug
Of course I spent some time looking for photos of Indian kids-and I knew that you would like them at the first sight. They also look exactly like what I have imagined . I do not know who  their  lucky parents are..
Baby and Babloo have started their mischief again, after a lapse of a few days.Tongue
Yours
