Thank you Shyamala.

My G'daughter is an expert in misplacing things. She lost her bus pass once and left her western flute (Rs 10,000) in the bus. I had to travel 2,3 times to the bus company to identify and claim it.I don't know if it is part of the baby-sitting job!

A really pathetic picture..Poor mother .How tired she looks..She has just now returned home after a hectic day at work..She has picked up the kids from the Day Care on her way back...She is so tired that she has no time to remove her shoes even..and finish her tea..The little fellow is screaming.. Perhaps she has to change his nappy..Why can't the kids' father take some responsibility? Or they must have grandparents like me living with them who'd make things easier for them..

I like the quote,

But I like this one better:

"An hour with your grandchildren makes you feel young again; anything longer than that, you will start to age quickly!"

Babloo: Oh.. I know..this is the red powder Jodha akka took to the war..

Baby: Yes.. and she threw them on the face of the enemy...

G'ma: ( laughs) Yes kutties...it is the same chilli powder..and I will add salt and oil..

Baby: And what are these yellow and brown powders?

G'ma: They are turmeric and mustard powders and that one is asafoetida powder..

Babloo: Oh, they are big words.. only Shyamala aunty will know how to say it..

okay grandma..when are we going to see her?

Baby: Grandma, did you ask aunty when we shall come there?

Babloo: What is this month Baby'kka?

Baby: It is still July..

Babloo: Still July? I thought it is S'ptember'kka

Baby: No , August comes after July, and September comes after that..

G'ma: And kutties.. this mango pickle has to blend nicely and it takes one month for that. So it will be fine if we go in September..

Babloo: G'ma, will you phone her and ask her when we shall come?

G'ma: No kutties.. She is busy writing something for Lashy akka's story ..we should not trouble her.. And .. mind you..she should not know that we are making mango pickle for her..I want to make it a surprise for her..

Baby, Babloo: Okay...

Babloo: When will you make sweets grandma?

Baby: She will make it when we go in September.. Last time she did like that..

G'ma: Yes Babloo, sweets will become bad if they are prepared one or two months early...

Baby: Babloo kutty, mummy said if you eat old and bad sweet, you will get upset stomach..

Babloo: 'kka, then we will take it to Jalal uncle's place and give it to white dress grandma..Last time she ate all the cricket ball ulundai..(Laughs)

Grandma is terribly concerned about the deteriorating health of the AAA thread.. After hearing from someone that Dr. Karkuzhali , the renowned Paediatrician is visiting IF hospital for 3 days in the evenings, she decides to consult her. Luckily she got her appointment today itself. She joins the waiting patients outside the consulting room of the Doctor.After waiting for about 45 minutes, the doctor calls her..

Grandma: Good evening doctor..

Dr. KK: Good evening , please take your seat and tell me what is your problem..

G'ma: Doctor, I am very much worried about this small child AAA.. .. She used to be the most cheerful and bubbly child with lots of energy till 4 months ago but now she has become very dull and idle..

Dr KK: Where are her parents? have they come?

G'ma: No Doctor, they have no time to come.. .I am just taking care of her now in their absence..

Dr KK: Mrs Karkuzhali, children should always be engaged with some activity that will keep them brisk and cheerful.. Are you doing any such thing?

G'ma: Yes doctor, I have two grandchildren, 5 and 3, who always play with her and she looks happy in their company.. In spite of that ,she very often becomes tired and is continuously inactive for weeks..

Dr KK: Yes Mrs KK, this is a viral fever that is going round now in the IF suburb..The symptoms are that the babies become sluggish, lose interest in their normal routine and feeling sleepy always..This is called Examinovirus, but please have no fear about it , ... the ailment is harmless though will continue for 1 or 2 months...

G'ma: Is there any remedy for it?

Dr.KK: They have not found out any medicine for it as the recovery process is quick and the child automatically gets well within a short time..However it will be better if you send me her parents for counselling..

G'ma: Thank you Doctor..
