Fan is an intense psychological thriller. It is overall a disturbing film.
- psychological thriller is a niche genre that does not have a universal audience
- there is no feel good factor to entice repeat viewing
- there is no humor or comedy to entice escapist viewers
- there is no moral lesson or patriotic touch to enthuse people
- there are no songs to lighten the mood or cut the tension
- there is nothing that appeals to families

Fan will underperform in box office due to the very nature of the film. Even in Hollywood some good movies underperform mediocre fantasy and superhero films.

This is not to devalue box office return. Net collections, ROI are important financial considerations. Salman Khan flicks do deserve credit for focusing on mass appeal and drawing crowds. But financial viability has no correlation with quality.

Just wanted to post it here for SRK fans...another brilliant postClapClap

@all - Sid Kapoor - The way I saw it, it was not targeted at a particular actor.

It was a general take on all the new actors whose one hit and everyone starts writing obituaries on SRK's career.

I took the names of all the actors in that context, nothing else.

I saw it happen when Hrithik came, Ranbir and now Ranveer and this will happen with any other actor who will come along.

So I guess the message was clear, koi bhi aaye, I have earned my place here, I deserve to be here, whether you agree or not.

I will continue to be here.

Deal with it.LOL

THIS!!!!...I really pity the SRK hatersCry...her movie ke baad ummeedo ke pul ban jaate hain...ki shayad ab SRK ka THE END ho jaayega...but SRK bhi besharam hai...he is like Angad ka paanv...koi kuchhh bhi kar le...per woh hai...ki wahin ka wahin...LMAO...LOLLOL

True. I am surprised no one has come up with a template for this.

*New guy comes. Insert his name in that template titled SRK is finished.*D'ohLOL

They had the technical team like Namrata and Maneesh giving interviews along with SRK and SRK pretty much gave tons of interviews to pretty much everyone. He even went on Aap Ki Adalat...promoted at cricket matches, in London and Dubai..went on TV shows. I think they did as much as could have been done.

I don't think extra promotions would have helped here at all.

I presume its directed towards me. Well with all the great acting and effort put in by SRK and the whole FAN team, dont you wish that it should make good money , say a super hit? Is that wrong?
Of course if the public is NOT aware of SRK movie release, it is lack of promotion, what else?
There are numbers between 1-100 and it need not be below 40 or above 90! there are numbers in between and yes they are the ones into movie making from years and would definitely know optimum promotions.

I still think SRK and the whole FAN team deserve better reward for their effort, higher BO collection.
