And this is what happens when you attempt a film that is out-of-the-box and pushes the envelope.Of course, we mean this only in a good way. Shah Rukh Khan decided to move out of his comfort zone and do Maneesh Sharma's FAN. It's been a long time since the audience had seen Khan essay such an intense role, and everyone was delighted.

Considering the genre of the film, it is not easy to impress the pan-India audience, and, still, FAN managed to rack up the highest day-one and weekend collections of the year - and collect Rs 71.5 crore in its first week, to boot. We must applaud YRF and SRK for attempting one of the most unconventional films in recent times. No wonder, the reviews and critical acclaim have been phenomenal from all quarters. We hope SRK gives us all an encore!
