Sri my point was more about various ways of Manipulation.
We don't hv enough info about Savita Bhalla ... Just her support for dude was beyond any repriprimand...
Even when he got sexually active at 13.
Manny bringing in boyfriends at will or dude rebelling coming with his girl friend are behaviour as adults right under Ranjan Bhalla's nose knowing very well that their activities cause him pain.
But can you blame Ranjan or Savita bhalla for dude sneaking off to satisfy his over active libido at that age. So if shravu is going to be caught watching po*n , it's not because of Bala.

I'm sorry Sri, I don't agree with your POV that every little thing he does has a motive .
He is very weak as a person , selfish , takes liberties with his wife...but the money he returned to dude to make things uncomfortable with a motive or that he doesn't give space to his wife is not true...

Giving space to wife is very relative and depends on each family and their situation. If I remember right , I don't think II had the space to stay peacefully at her home during Thalai Deepavali where dude had a swollen face entire time except the holy bath time or when she wanted to stay back at DII for the full thirteen days ... . As long as she's not in DII everything is ok for the dude. I don't look at that as space.
It's my POV and I stick to that.
Space is a very relative term Sri, it has to be looked at from their family's perspective.

Bala behaved like a swine in sending II alone in the night . Keeps poking dude ... , was very weak in wanting vandu to go to work, was very selfish in letting dude talk and have the finances flowing
But not everything he does has a motive . And the way he scolds shravu , flipping out is very common .
Vandu and II's bond is such that neither dude nor Bala can take the control they would like to have.

Talking of space , Ranjan bhalla and no one else in this story showers the space both wanted and unwanted to all. His support of harish , not taking a stance is the same as Bala not taking a stance with his brother.Edited by Errantnomad - 7 years ago

Sri, in lighter vein 😆 on your usage of Bala bashing mode ... I laughed my guts out.
Mode is something temporary and intermittent ... 😆 . I know your love for Bala is beyond question and your support for dude greater than even Savita Bhalla's . Sorry sri, I couldn't resist digging at that mode usage...please feel free to dig on mine with my love for the dude...

Kalpana space is something we create by our presence , absence, responses and reactions. Vandhusees something ...likes it...brings it home...Bala makes her return...If Vandhu understands the reason she should accept that the POV was not thought of and move on. If she doesn't she and Bala should have a discussion and come to an understanding. The problem is they dont  discuss matters and  harbor hurt. The reason Vandhu comes running to II with all her problems is due to this lack of conversation. She is unable to even tolerate her Amma correcting Shravu which i guess is her blind love for her son that she fails to see his shortcomings. She could have reined in her sister by limiting the extent to which she indulges her son. It was convenient to her. She watched her son get what he wanted, when something went wrong a finger was pointed towards MM.
