"She likes her Dad, they will be sitting on the swing staring at the birds, he will name the kinds she will coo in response" II said with searing envy
"Is he teaching her to read too?" Sam laughed
"I am going to ensure my daughter stays illiterate, we dont need any more people reading books in teh house"
Sam rolled on the floor gasping
"U think its funny... its not... Tan talks with u for hours no" II was offended
"Arey NAHI karta woh baat... u shud know by now"
"Well I HATE it" Ii said
"Tum sabke hisse ka bol leti ho" Sam laughed
"Too bad... I am not stopping" II made a face
She lays in bed and watches mesmerized as he talks to her, main aati hoon kamre mein to CHUP" Ii was offended

the apologies were given and received before sliding off the divan

The women sat on the sun room floor at Sam's house, where Amma once sat when she came to "talk" about their rishta
"I am just paranoid I guess" Ii said sadly
"I wud be too, my sis in laws live in the USA, atleast tum usko dhoondkar aayi, main Tan ko kehti lets move out of Delhi" Sam whispered

"He knows how much I love Nivi, if u notice she has a chubby body but really long hands, its like Ma ke haath" Sam smiled big and wide

"I love the fact that u care for her so much, Ambala Manni hasnt bothered to visit more than a couple times" II whispered
R&B brought a crabby Nivi
He had driven to Sam's as II fed her daughter in the backseat
They were still "not talking" but thought it was important enuf so decided to drive II

Nivi was delighted she cooed loudly... Sam gently placed her on her godee
"Bua sulaye tujhe?" she whispered, doing things she routinely did to Lasya's hair

He hauled her up

"Biryani de diya, ghar pe jaake khao" Sam laughed

"I have a call' R&B said
"Biwi zara enjoy kar le kitna chubhta hai isko" Sam teased stretching, Nivi slept on her lap peacefully

"Huh" he grunted
"Lets go... ur wife has a teary face, she is most likely going to pull a Meena Kumari on u" Lasya said
"Can we make more?" he kissed Lasya's fat wrist
"Getting away is priority" Lasya nodded
II ate with Sam, she told her about the shady parts deal
Sam listened stunned "U must think my brother doesnt give a damn no?" she asked

He came in with a sleeping Lasya, and a bottle of beer

She didnt respond
"Rukogi raat ko? Lasya de sakti hoon tumhe" Sam laughed child like

"I WOULD LOVE THAT. Any baby that doesnt nurse I love" she smiled

II went back to looking ashamed and guilty and squeamish
"I just find that one connection priceless"
"She doesnt eat much... she waits for u to come home and feed" Sam said worried
"I need him to be in town when I wean" II said softly
"Main aaoon help karne?" she asked
II nodded... smiling
"Who knows if u are around she might just forget" II smiled
"R&B must be sick of it" Sam whispered
"Chhheee... I cant believe u are his sis and talk so gross" II acted like a prude
"Main usko jaanti hoon" Sam laughed hysterically
II got up hot and bothered
"I shud just let him stew and nurse her for another 6 months" she said gleefully
"Will u have more?" Sam asked
"Pfttt!! Not in this lifetime" Ii said confidently
"Did u get ur tubes tied?" Sam asked
"OH HE KNOWSSS... it aint happening again" she said, picking up and putting away toys
The cousins slept on the divan, Lasya clutching R&B's beats earbuds
Nivi facing her, chin up, an eager expression on her face
"She is sooo cute and adorable, u make gentle kind souls" Sam said with pride
"Mere par gayi hai" II nodded smugly
"Sure" R&B said cynically
