I found her stupid... if you have address and hire proper cab they will surely drop you .. .certainly not several KM away from your destination..  a single traveling women shoudl be prepared with these simple things.. like having proper address, battery charger.. etc. Anyway it is drama and Dev had to wait ..  :D

Exactly my point. It's very stupid of elena that she told sona not to pick her..ok. But atleast she should have saved the battery and now even in small towns we have good and reliable cab service then how come she didn't find it in city like Delhi.

Yes there's safety issues even in other cities n towns just like Delhi and that's why one has to make sure of proper arrangements even though not travelling alone.

She looked very immature. I think they wanted to show her independent but ended up showing her stupid. But the threat, that environment and then vicky and his friends teasing her was close to reality.
Was the girl shown as immature ?? Of course she was ! But that doesn't mean stupid or immature girls deserve that some tragedy befall them. They deserve to be fully safe within the capital city , it's responsibility of the govt. n law n order system to ensure that.
And let's not even talk about reliable cab services , cab drivers are known frequently to take advantage of a girl if she's alone and especially at night . There are numerous such cases in Delhi every year where a cab driver has raped a girl. I think , from what Elena said to Sona on phone , that she gave the cab driver the correct address of Sona's house and the driver deliberately dropped her stranded at a far away point to get more money from her , as he understood this girl is new to the city . I've myself faced this situation where a cab driver deliberately tried to take the wrong route becoz I was alone , n he though I don't know the path. Luckily it was day light n I promptly stopped the cab n got down in a busy road n saved myself.
DElhi is the worst city in India, I've lots of female friends there, it's a city of nightmare for girls.

@AnnaPaquinFan Immature, stupid or whatever nobody deserves such bad treatment from anybody. Of course it's the responsibility of the govt to ensure that extra safety to women. Also punish those with sick mindset who trouble women.

As you said you too faced similar situation, but you didn't act stupidly. You got down from the cab on a busy road and that kind of intelligence I wanted to see in elena. Because when she says sona not to pick her up, it somewhere implied that she is quite intelligent n can handle such situations pretty good.

What I felt is that the whole scene would have looked even more real if she had called sona much before like when she was still in the cab or sensed that driver is unnecessarily taking long routes. And for that, one needs Internet and enough battery life which she wasted on playing games. I said that's stupidity.

I agree with you that Delhi is not so safe for women.
By the way nice post. Between may I know your name?

Agree with the post. Yes. Delhi is the worst place in India where girls face grave danger.  CVs should have made the scene look real but they failed to do so. The confidence with which Elena said that she can come on her own will give a feeling that she should have acted with some more maturity and smartness.Instead she landed up in trouble and it looked a little unrealistic. But still for a moment I identified with Elena's situation and felt scared. So the scene worked to some extent. Seeing Vicky in that car I fumed and whatever I thought of him when he landed in police station became absolutely correct. That Mami's Ladla is fit for nothing fellow. I wish Dev would think twice before purchasing a car for him.

Well here I think Elena did act over smart , she thought she can handle such situation , she just wanted to show her elder sister that she ain't a kid any more who needed to be escorted n accompanied for safe guarding from place to place , it was like throwing bravado which is quite common in adolescents. They act rash . They do all sorts of things like drunk driving n what not. That's teenage for you. I've done very many stupid things as a adolescents , which I know at the age of 23 think back n shiver to think what bad things could've befallen me n how risky it all was.

But ensuring safety should not just fall on the girl n her family's shoulder exclusively , even a stupid girl need to be totally safe n it's her right.

My name is Gargi. Embarrassed NIce to know you too. Smile

@ Bold, it was her age talking ( Ain't saying there's no mature n level headed teenage girls though ) but many mature adults had been really immature n rash in their teenage , in that age you think you could take on the world yourself . and you're smart n experienced enough for that. They don't know how tide can turn n a girl can land in a potentially dangerous situation in our country where a girl needs to think twice before doing any thing.
