Easily the best Friday of 2016 so far, the release of Shah Rukh Khan's FAN has set ticket counters on fire. The film is expected to garner Rs 20-25 crore, all-India NBOC on day one, today. Distributors say credit for such a fantastic opening goes solely to Shah Rukh Khan, who has presented a zara hatke film for movie-goers. Tomorrow, the numbers are expected to be even bigger, with Sunday being biggest, in terms of collections. Apart from being the most fruitful Friday's of 2016 so far, distributors believe that FAN will break records at the weekend. Over to them:

Rajesh Thadani, Multimedia Combines, Mumbai

As we had assumed, Shah Rukh Khan's FAN took a good opening and will reel in over Rs 20 crore plus all over India on day one, Rs 9 crore in Mumbai alone. The film will set a new benchmark and become this year's the biggest hit so far.

Brijesh Tandon, H K Tandon and Company, Delhi-UP

Shah Rukh Khan has fans of all ages in India and he has proved it, once again, with FAN. The film started on a great note and saw consistent footfalls throughout the day. On day one, it is expected to reel in around Rs 4.5 crore in Delhi-UP. I am sure tomorrow will see record collections.

Debashish Dey, Aum Moviez, West Bengal

In WB, everyone is an SRK fan and despite the IPL being underway, the buzz around the film is huge. The film saw 80-per cent occupancy in all multiplexes and will do business of around Rs 1 crore, which is huge for a non-holiday release.

Jaspal Dhingra, Nanaksar Enterprises, East Punjab

As predicted, FAN has broken all advance booking records this year. The film is growing with word-of-mouth publicity the response from the audience is very positive. On its first day, the film will earn Rs 2.5 crore and break records on the weekend.

Jeetu Khandelwal, Movie Pioneers, Orissa

The film is doing very strong business in multiplexes but single screens are not seeing similar occupancy. Since today is a holiday, the film will notch up Rs 20 lakh. It's a film which will grow by word-of-mouth publicity.

Vijay Kher, NR Multimedia, CP

The film started on a very good note and the response from the audience is very good. FAN is going strong and in all probability, will collect around Rs 90 lakh on day one.

B H Basha, Bahar Enterprises, Mysore

The report of FAN is outstanding and it opened to 80-per cent occupancy in Mysore. Shah Rukh Khan is doing a different type of role after a very long time, which is something the audience has been waiting for. On day one, the film is expected to garner around Rs 85 lakh.

Rakesh Singh, Masona Films, Bihar

In Bihar, everyone waits for Shah Rukh Khan's films and FAN looked very intriguing after the teaser was released. The film will clock Rs 60 lakh on day one and will do excellent business over the weekend.

Devang Sampat, Cinepolis

Today was the best Friday of 2016 for our industry. The film has had a very positive buzz around it pre-release and now post-release as well. We expect it to notch up 80,000 footfalls today and, on average, our net ticket price is Rs 180. The response has been growing and with each passing show, it is getting better and better.

Thomas Dsouza, PVR

The film is expected to wrap its first day at Rs 3.75 crore at our all-India PVR properties. FAN is garnering an exceptional response from the audience and we have the weekend shows almost house full thanks to advance booking. Shah Rukh Khan's Gaurav avatar is charming the audience. The film is not the usual Khan affair and was a huge gamble for the actor to star in a film that is very unlike him. The gamble has paid off and how!

Rajender Singh, Inox

On average, we have four screens per property and with that, we have 14 shows of FAN on each property per day. We expect the film to reel in Rs 3 crore or even more on its first day. The reports of the film are very positive and the weekend is only going to get bigger and better.

We have 18 shows on average at each of our properties and FAN has a show every 45 minutes! The weekend advance booking has come to a close and tickets all sold out. We expect the film to collect Rs 2.5-3 crore at Carnival properties today.
